    Default A Few Questions...

    I play Vanilla 1.2 patch.

Firstly, what is the best way to go about making another faction a vassal?

In my current campaign, there is a Hungarian Pope and he is literally making so many Hungarian Cardinals, I won't have a shot at gaining papancy when he dies, and they are my allies so what can I do to improve the chances of me gaining papacy for one of my cardinals?

Basically, all my Princesses are completely hideous with the exception of one. It seems the best way to get better traits into my family (based upon RTW trait transferring experience) is to get other princesses from other factions married into my family. Is there a way i can marry the high charm ones in to gain better traits than, 'wife is a wench' etc...?

And how can I gain better reputation and will it assist me in diplomacy?

    Thanks

Have no fear Obi Wan is here with the Glow Stick (walks into the wall)

best way for a vassal is to have good World Reputation. Destroy all but 1 territory and place a large army on one of their roads, get a lvl 4 Diplomat and offer "Be my Vassal" and give the guy some money and 3 cities back. if all that fails then you need to get better reputation With that faction. (offer then gifts)

I hate it when that happens. the Reason why that is happening is because Hungary has obviously made 100's of Priests and because they are next door to the Byzantines, with their Orthodox lands. they are just leveling up really fast. (not because of the pope)

Princesses are always stupid and i never really bother with them. the only way to get a high charmer is if that faction's Princess as done alot of Diplomacy. I have only every come across 3 High charmer Princess's and thats at the begining of the game (France and the 2 Spanish Princess's.

Yes better world rep will help your diplomacy. to get it better don't do naughty things like sacking cities, spying, assassins, and always release your prisoners.

Try knocking out their military in several short runs. Sacking capital cities. High world rep and around 20,000 - 50,000 florins might do it. It's tricky, some people can get up to five while other have never gotten one, also some factions are harder to get as vassals than others.

Just make more priests and send them to places like Jerusalem, Antioch, and Acre. Also any Muslim or Orthodox region that'll boost their rating. The thing is to always max out your priests if you want a shot at the papacy.
Assassinate a few of their lower level priests and cardinals to even out the playing field a bit.

Getting them to do simple diplomacy, i.e. trade rights, alliances, map rights, donating florins, and ceasefire will boost their attractiveness via a charm boost. Can't do much with the ugly princess but maybe marry them to your good generals to get them in to the family tree.

And how can I gain better reputation and will it assist me in diplomacy?
Don't use spies offensively, keep them in your cities counter-spying. Don't be the one to start wars and often sue for peace whenever possible. Donate money to your allies and the pope.

    Thanks
    Your welcome.

You send a Diplomatic, add money and at the bottom, click on the "gift" icon.
