Britania campaign - Norwegians

As a Norwegian I had to try out my old vikings ancestors in the Britania campaign. Playing on H/H I had to try out a few different strategies before I achieved success. Now after 40 turns Scotland is destroyed and my sights are on The English Barons, then England herself. I love the good heavy infantry the norwegians can offer, but I do miss some heavy cavalry. Maybe that will come later with bigger castles.

Anyway, Kingdoms is def a worthy upgrade to MTW2!

How are you faring with the Norwegians?

i was getting whooped by the scots
then my king arived and killed of scotland just as william wallace appeared talk about luck

now im allied with the wels and the Barons at war with the english

Im currently playing as khalmar (starts as Danmark) union in the Teutonic campaign and tried to play Brittan campaign but the Teutonic interested me more.

Norway was my first choice in the Britannia campaign, because I love the Vikings. But I quickly got my butt kicked by Scotland.. So I decided to be the Irish instead, and conquered 80% of Britannia.

I am playing as Norway and I kick Scotland's ass! I'm a little worried about William Wallace though....

I played as Norway and actually wiped out all Scotland (even though it was quite challenging actually), now I have a pretty big chunk of Britain under my rule...

So far playing as Norwegians was a blast...

Butchering them to the man, with Duke William Wallace of the Kingdom of Wales.

They've been pushed back to John O'Groats by the Scots and have lost every one of their islands to the might of Wallace's Welsh warmachine. They've still got a stack or two worth of troops holding on against the King of Scotland, but I doubt they'll last more than another four or five turns.

They were the first Faction i played as and i painted the highlands with scotlands blood and now i'm working my way across ireland.

So with "Duke William Wallace" mentioned above...are there titles awarded in the British Campaign, and if so how are they awarded?

I'm still at war with Scotland, those guys just won't give up. I love the Norwegians though.

This was the second campaign i played after Apache in America scenario and finding it too easy (on M/VH).

I started the norwegian as M/VH and immediately went after the main land rebel provinces (figuring to capture island rebels later). Scots after initally ignoring me decided to attack.

And immediately things starting going wrong and games atrocious AI starting spoiling the game play. First the scots attacked me but only at the fort near wick which they besiged and then captured meanwhile i was able to launch seaborne attack from west straight at lightly defended glascow.

AI, instead of taking Wick (which was virtually undefended) just left its full stack army near the fort it had captured completely idled (and that army remained there for next 30 turns as i completely distroyed the scots, eventually i killed that stack as a grey rebel force).

Meanwhile i captured all the scots southern provinces and they just milled about. I did not have to fight a single full army. Twice the AI sent forces past a completely undefended province to attack a strongly defended province. Then William Wallace showed up and promptly parked his full stack army in a fort and did not move from that fort even when i besiged the last remaining city. So ended the scot empire.

I had similar problems with the Barons and English and Welsh. AI is completely unabe to distinguish between forts and city/castle. Many time the AI will sit in a fort content to defend while i move around and take his cities/castles.

In the end the challenge only lasted as long as the scots. Even that was ruined to an extend due to broken AI.

PS. Will bumping campaign difficulty to VH change AI effectivness? I usually play at M/VH because in grand campaign bumping difficulty any higher just makes AI attack irrationally, even to its own detriment
