Icon4 Strange problem when loading up kingdoms

Hi, not sure if this has already been discussed. But i am having a problem with kingdoms that is really bugging me! I have legit copies of mtw and mtw:k.

I have installed medieval kingdoms successfully, but the problem occurs when i try to load the game. Whenever i click on the shortcut to either of the games I hear a windows beeping sound then nothing happens. Then when I look in the task manager under processes, kingdoms.exe is running. Now, i can try this several times and each time another kingdoms.exe is loaded up.

I have to admit, that I have managed successfully to load up the britannia and teutonic campaigns once without problems, but when i exited the game and tried to reload... the same thing happened to me.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, aswell as deleting all registry entries and other files related to the game before reinstalling.

Is anyone else having similar issues?

    Thanks.

I have the same exact problem, I was able to play once and I can't play anymore.

I think I found a solution, its annoying, but it works.

Load the game up WITHOUT the CD. You should see the securerom message saying there is no disc. Now, put the disc in and hit retry. Now it works for me!!! Everytime!!! But whenever I don't do the above, I get a beep and nothing happens after I click the executable.

    The problem is secureROM.

    Try doing this:
Try going to the CD/DVD drive with the kingdoms CD in it and double click on the icon. The start menu should start, and you may be able to access it from there.

I don't know if this works, since I haven't had this problem, but it's worth a try.
