The Seleucid Menace
Yeah sure, and the next time you claim Earth isn't flat ...
Before Eury returns to Rhodes for reinforcements, he decides to sack Halicarnassus and Xantus (gifted to Carthage). The fires can be seen from Rhodes![]()
A little gift for our roman friends. Wow, I didn't even need to use the script
Carthage is ready and attacks TSE. I hope they remember to bring their armies ...
In Crete three new armies are raised. The Fourth under Peli, The Fifth under Dyma and the Sixth under Aris.
Together with the Second and Third, they meet on the shores west of Kydonia.
Peli: Wow, an impressive sight, all those troops and ships ... but why are we here?
Aris: The King has a new assignment for us. We are to set sail to the distant and mysterious land of Britannia, which should be somewhere in the north-west.
Anti: What? We are at war with the Seleucid, why is the bulk of our troops sent on a search for some god forsaken island on the arse end of Poseidon?
Aris: Ehmm... well ... the King ... he had a look at the world map ... and dislikes ... the green stain of Gauls in Britannia ... and wants us to go kill them.
Anax: Gauls? Who the hell are Gauls?
Aris: The Romans told us about them, some hairy, smelly, trouser-wearing barbarians ... that's about all we know about them.
Anti: So we are heading to the middle of nowhere to kill some petty barbarians, without any intel on them or any reinforcements?
Aris: Yup, direct orders of the King ... he may be an idiot, but he's the King ...
Dyma: Just great, but did I have to enlist? I should have stayed with my sheep!
Since the Second up to the Sixth army is heading on a long and dangerous journey, another army has been recruited in Rhodes to support the First.
They see their first combat action in the pillage of Side (->Carthage).
Eury's First is retrained and heads towards Pergamum. The resistance is harder than expected (worthless fool, but at last he has a chirugeonsp?).
Eury then heads north to Lysimacheia, which he sacks too (both to Rome).
The Seventh under Ophe is full of fresh recruits and fights worse than a bunch of women(Carthage) Oh well, time for some retraining.
On their way back to Rhodes, the First makes a stop at Athens, which was conquered recently by the Seleucid. They decide to give it back to Rome, needless to say they keep some stuff as payment![]()
The remnants of the Seventh plunder Myra before they continue their journey back home (Carthage).
111BC, Sarmatians are biting the dust ... Nobody's gonna miss you anyway
The incompetent carthaginians (sp?) lose Halicarnassus and Xantus, so the refitted First reconquers them. The Greeks are civilized, so no city gets sacked twice(atleast not in such a short time
)
The Seventh sacks Ephesus.
This is not looking good, TSE is still butt-raping Rome, eben more than before ... they have so many cities, they don't even notice if some are missing LOL
The First is on it's way to the Middle East, were they hopefully will pillage, rape and kill all their way from Pelusion up to Antioch. The Seventh is gonna have some fun in Greece. The Eighth Army is almost ready and will spread fear and death around the Black Sea.
It's good that in a gifted city 10-15 units spawn, but TSE is still easily reconquering them. Carthage is retarded, they have so many stacks on Sicily and Africa, why can't they send them over? And they only have one boat in total LMAO
My plundering and murderingvikinggreek pirate hordes will obviously continue terrorising all nearby coastal towns. Since TSE has to divert armies to try to recapture their settlements, I hope I buy Rome enough time so they can stop their advance. With my navy and 8 stacks I only lose 20k per turn![]()
My expeditionary forces have almost reached the altantic, half way done
