What an awesome campaign!! Rome is awesome! Armenia is incredible too, although they look in trouble from my old pals Macedonia! Id love to see a Macedonia - Rome war, for the whole map.

Armenia must win!!!!!!!!!!!! Pax Armeniae must be completed!!!!!

Okay now that my semi-manic statements are over, great AAR! Nice to see the AI fighting itself without human intervention, I have never seen a campaign like this before (at least with RS).

We're now at the magic 200BC mark, this is gonna be an important and funny update (wait till you see my king ). A sad day for all Armenia fans though

Armenia is ********* up for good, the cowardly seleucid decided to backstab poor and defenceless Armenia for no good reason. These spineless inbred camel-loving seleucid bastards, I feel a great urge to burn their cities to the ground, kill their man and woman, rape their daughters and sell their sons into slavery ... ARGH ... neeeed ... toooooo ... reeeeestrain .... myyyyseeeeelf ....
btw why didn't I get diplomatic message about their war?

WTF? My spy reaches Italy and stumbles across Post-Marian Legions ... and since when can they recruit them in Italy? What the hell is going on here? Why did nobody tell me? First I have to find out about the seleucid-armenia war on my own, now I see Rome has got their reforms since years. Some heads gonna role in the foreign ministry, I gonna have to execute a lot of those no-good clerks to restore some work ethics
I get the impression the AI cheats, no way they can max out their cities before I can.

Rome really likes First Cohorts ... I don't think they recuit anything else

Ok, now I'm really getting pissed, I can't work like that. Are they just retarded or do they wanna mess with me on purpose? I should have executed the whole foreign ministry last time ... but better late than never!

    The World at 200 BC

Poor Armenia is on it's last leg and I'm running out of buildings, Rhodes is already maxed out.

Sarmatia just launched a surprise attack against Macedon, not a very bright idea. Macedon now concentrates their forces again on Germania. TSE will probably attack Macedon pretty soon.

Iberia is almost romanized. Rome has like 15 stacks in Iberia.

The seleucid scum awakened from their coma, but Macedon is already on their way to claim first position. Rome third, Carthage fourth and Germania fifth. Armenia did a terrific job, they managed to get from superpower to complete annihilation in mere 10 years

Now have a look at my king, the last of the spartan bloodline...

(First is mad, second indolent, third gambler)
I always wanted to have a mad faction leader ROFL, and he is only 45, which means it can still get worse Well, atleast he isn't a coward. And I'm running out of governors, these inbred idiots only give birth to girls ... Seems like 80 years of incest wasn't such a good idea after all :tooth:

I am a bit deterred by the amount of stacks the AI spams out in RS, which means I would have to fight a lot of battles. Alas I get bored very fast. I would also prefer to start with a very small and weak faction, but I can't find one
Yeah, that was the quote from the end of the intro. One of the coolest intros ever

How about a shared AAR? If you are familiar with the concept.....

And the story beats the crap out of that intro, I played constantly for over 9h to get to the end

I'm still mad at MS for not making a sequel
You mean a succession AAR, where someone plays like 10 turns and then the next one gets the save? That would be ideal for my lack of perseverance

Love it, BUT YOU NEED MORE GOVERNORS!!!! Or else try to get a "man of the hour"!!! Otherwise the campaign will be gone. I want to see if Rome wins!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not really running out of governors, just out of good ones I got a lot of women, so there are many marriage proposals.
    Big update coming ...

The dawn of a new century starts with the clash of two Titans

And another people join the underworld ... it must really getting overcrowded down there

Another bright example of the royal bloodline. Dumb, aggressive and decadent, the (almost) perfect human only arrogance is still missing

TSE get's really arrogant and marches through macedonian territory as if they would own it. Seems like a big war is on the horizon ...

Oops, I didn't even knew this could happen lol

Roman overkill in Iberia, but they were never know for their humbleness anyway (197BC)

    Life sucks, especially in Pontus

Sneaky little seleucid bastards make the sarmatians their *********** and attack Macedon, which was just preparing the invasion of Germania. GO Macedon GO! the greeks are completely off the radar since the start

Rome "pacified" Iberia (I doubt there are any iberians left) and decide to lend their allies Macedon a hand against Germania. Not that they would need their help
Germans should really stop eating mushrooms they find in the woods, these hallucinations (pontus) are getting dangerous

    The World at 190BC

Romans just crossed the german border, but Carthage is still pestering around the andalucian shores (woot naval invasion).

Macedon is doing an hell of a job. They didn't postpone their invasion of Germania and are kicking their asses. TSE was able to conquer 4 or 5 cities due to their surprise attack, but their advance has grinded to an halt and I think Macedon is slowly pushing them back again. At the same time they are also concentrating troops for an invasion of Sarmatia. Tough little guys, you just gotta love 'em

On the paper TSE seems to be stronger, but they probably have crappy units and their economy sucks compared to Macedon
If Macedon manages to cripple TSE before the Romans come knocking on their doors, they might even have a chance to beat them.

If somebody is interested in playing the toughest campaign ever, I can upload the save

This campaign is now 100 years old and World War Zero has been officially started

    Threesome

The Free People are either very brave or very stupid ...

A completely perverted drunkard, the perfect king for the vile and dastardly Seleucid Empire

Well, atleast they have some cool cataphract elephants

Macedon did the worst thing they could do ... to wall in the romans

    Free BBQ around Capua

Since Vulcan is displeased, the Romans decide to kill some macedonians to propitiate their God of War. The AI is so foreseeable ...
    Macedon is so screwed

    The World at 180BC

The whole map is now engulfed by the fires of WWZ (no, not Zombie ). At last the game is living up it's name: Total War
Rome is at war with Gaul, Germania, Macedon and Carthage. Macedon is also fighting Germania, Sarmatia and TSE. The Free People keep harrasing the Seleucids.

Macedon is doing a good job at the sourthern seleucid front, it isn't looking so good up in the north. But now that Rome is attacking them, they will probably collapse soon.

Carthage still doesn't want to give up on Iberia.

Rome is now the strongest in the world.
Macedon crippled the Sarmatians and Germans. I don't get it why they are amassing so much money, they should start to spam out armies after armies, that's what zero-turn recruitment is good for

I heard somewhere the AI can't take advantage of 0 turn recruitment. They still train only 1 per turn

    Good AAR BTW

    Thanks guys
Most of the time the AI is only training one unit per turn (especially in peace time), but I witnessed many times that a city with little garrison goes to almost full garrison in one turn (without getting reinforcements), especially when an enemy army comes close.

I am also looking forward for a massive slugfest between Rome and TSE over the corpse of Macedon

This is really good, I have done something like this before where you put -enable ai or something like that in teh start up line and the AI fights as all factions for you!

Shame about Macedon and Carthage, they are my fav factions.=[

You can tell by the size and amount of armies that the AI loves 0 turn recruitment.

Awesome AAR man. I can't wait till Rome clashes with the Selucid empire. More!!! If Rome pushes some more Macedon is doomed.

Not much happening, this is gonna be a small update.

Haha, take that stupid greeks ... ehm ... wait ... I shouldn't have said that

    175BC, I just reached 3 million denarii.

    The World at 170BC

Seleucid and Sarmatia are at war again. The rebel city in the middle of TSE is Persepolis, that's like the fifth time they rebel

The carthagian King was standing there for almost 5 years and hasn't moved an inch. Germans don't stand a chance.

Macedon is dead, they just don't know it yet I'm not sure if they can survive the next 10 years.

TSE is having a gigantic boost, let's hope Rome pulls itself together so that they can give us a nice show
