Constant freezes

I'm experiencing constant freezing in the campaignmap. I can't even play one turn without the game locking up. Every time i try to move an army, agent etc. it just stops. My whole pc even locks up, forcing me to reboot.

I have done multiple installs and reinstalls. Of the complete game. I've cleaned the registry, shut down McAfee etc. I've installed the latest drivers.

I just can't help thinking the game is utterly bugged...

Who else is having these problems? Who's got the answer?

everything ran very smooth here, haven't had a single problem yet (unlike my experiences with vanillia mtw)

Moved to Tech Help.

During a battle, it froze up on me. Had to ctrl/alt/delete to get out. I hope that's a rare problem.

It seems to be a problem too. Mine was froze too. 2 times for the Crusades. Both had battles. Big battles to. Yesterday there was not a problem. That was the Brits Campaign.

Okay, that's it: i'm getting a new copy. My best guess now is that i've got a faulty disk. Weird, never had any problems with TW games.

Before you do that smoke. Try a this. The NET framework 3.0. I tried it. And clean M2TW install. No mods, no nothing. Good for me. All day no freezing. http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=91124

Thanks for the suggestion, Pachinko. But it's still the same.

I uninstalled, cleaned. Applied Framework 3.0, then MTW2, then the XP. Nothing. Still freezes on the first army or agent i move.

Aaargh i never had any problems with TW games. I'm thouroughly disappointed in CA's Q & A.

Guess i'll have to replace my copy...
