I found this screenshot in a Japanese Total War forum.
The poster said he succeeded in changing the troop size after unpacking the Kingdoms file.
Did anybody else succeeded in doing this?

It's a shot of Canons of Holy Sepulcher(I think) with 250 men for each unit.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.
Moved to the Mod Workshop.
WTF? Did CA up the # of men max? I can't get more than a 150 per unit.
wow...that is a serious increase...but then again..they were toting the idea of bigger battles from the get go.so it sounds reasonable...suppose we could see if we can put the value past 60 and see what happenes
@ Juggernaut: I meant a link from that Japanese TW site where they did it.
If you can read Japanese, this is the link.
Look for post number 197.

In summary what is says is that all you have to do is unpack the Kingdoms file and edit export_descr_unit.txt.
Can you try to increase more and see if it CTD?
I don't have Kingdoms yet.
Okay...I just ran some tests and it turns out CA did indeed change the troop capacity seemingly back to what it was in Rome....Prior to this the maximum troop value was 60...now it is 100!!!! seeting the first number in soldier type in the EDU to 100 will give you 250 men in the unit.
I did try to further increase the number of men and the game did in fact ctd at the start screen.so it would appear that 250 is the max number of men,which goes back to the old roman unit cap it seems,so it looks like we can have some SPQR grade battles going on of a truly epic scale
@IceTorque
it is in fact playable but I would not suggest trying i unless you were running a serious ig,for this game is by far more graphic intensive that nrome ever was and still such numbers were a pull on moderate to high systems.

Can you also choose values between 150 and 250? Like 180 or 200 for example?
@The Second Spartan
Yes,any variable of the soldier value up to 100 will give you different numbers of troops in the unit.it is a matter of trial and error until you get the number you are shooting for,but I will say I believe from trials that a value of 80 was actually 200 men
I just checked into the possibility that the increased unit capacity was tied into the 1.3 patch,but it seems that it is ot,for I ran some tests with the updated vanilla that kingdoms uses for a source and alas no dice.so it seems that the 250 men per unit cap is only within the confines of the kingdoms mods....until of course one of our many talented modders figures out how it is that they increased the maximum and the go about implementing it elsewhere![]()

Army of 20000.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How though..? if the max is 250 per unit.. then times 20 units = 5000.. how 20000 can we have more than 20 units per army.. or is this pic with reinf. armies also??
Duh!! nevermind.. missed the reinf cards on the right... this is awesome...
Can someone give a screenshot of these bigger units in the campaign game? I know it was possible to do stuff like this in custom battles before, but just to make sure.
So..now that we see that it CAN be that big I've got two questions.
1. How do you change the unit sizes?
2. Is it only adjustable to 250 or can I change it to 150 or something?
Dont know how you change the size.. but it appears to be a 20 = 50 men formula
20 = 50
40 = 100
60 = 150
80 = 200
100 = 250
Someone said it wasent any higher than this... but I could swear I read somewhere where peasants could be made up even higher .. Where did I see this? I have no idea.. maybe I was dreaming.. but maybe certain troop types could be higher than 250? can someone check this and check to make sure it works in the campaign...? I cant I dont have Kingdoms yet
Oh hell yeah, 250 is a nice number but I don't think my PC could handle that unlike in RTW. I'll try out 200 and see how it goes.
