    Default Named Characters Question

I was wondering how the game calculates when a character will die of old age, when a character gets married/proposed to, and when a character will have a child. Are they completely random events, or are there certain triggers? Is there any way to modify these, and if so, what file(s)?

I believe old age is random. Marriage and birth are random, but the chances of getting them are based on your character to province ratio. The more provinces and the less characters you have, the higher chance of getting marriages, births, and Men of the Hour.

EDIT: not sure if it's moddable.

Yeah, I figured it would be random. It's just annoying having my small family stay small because my characters just won't mate with anyone, and die when they become 60. Traits don't seem to help at all, either.

Family members only get married when they end turn or spend a turn or two in town. If you keep them out in the field all the time, of course they'll never marry.

If I want a character to marry, I keep them in a settlement. Maybe I just have bad luck, but even after ten or more turns, they still stay single or have no children, on most games, even with traits that supposedly raise the chances of these events happening.
