Error loading mount database

I followed the instructions here. First I installed RTW Gold through Steam (it comes with the latest version), then RTR v1.9 from here. RTW will start OK, but when I try BI it gives me that error.

You have installed the simple version of RTRPE, not the mod switch version. This means that some vanilla RTW files were replaced with the modded ones. You won`t be able to play BI from the same install since BI is using some of the files from the main folder. You`d have to either install the mod switch version or make multiple installs.
Anyway, you said that RTW will start ok. Did you mean that after installing the mod you can play RTW vanilla or that you have started the mod(RTRPE) using the RTW.exe ?
