    Default My merchants are losing money...

    I started getting power over the Ivory near Africa.
    It was generating 600/turn at first, and my total merchant trade was 5400 or so per turn.

    BUT, when I got more people down there to start trading the slaves there too, I only get 89 or so florins/turn from the ivory that used to give me 600+ per turn. And the merchants have only GAINED skill points.

    Why does the income decrease?

    In older versions of the game your merchant income resets itself after every reload. It doesn't factor in the distance from your capital, and only relocating your capital will fix it. That could be your problem.

    I used to experience the same thing, and then I patched to version 1.2.

    You also lose some trade income if the territory you are trading in is hostile to you.

    If I patch to 1.2, will I have to restart my campaign?

    edit:
    Do I need to install 1.1 before 1.2?
    And, 1.1 is a command prompt installer. Is there a self-installer? I dont like the command prompt...

    If you patch to 1.2 you will have to restart your campaign. Also you can install 1.2 straight from 1.0 which is usually a better way to do it since you will encounter less bugs. 1.2 is self-installer I believe [Not sure about the self-installer part]

    Stainless Steel requires 1.2. Honestly to play any mod you really need 1.2, It adds great fixes to vanilla and opens you up to the world of mods

    I know. I always wanted to try Stainless Steel, so I guess i will update to 1.2 and try SS.

    I got 1.2 installed, but on the Options screen, it registers as 1.02.
    Did I do something wrong?

    And, in stainless steel, there are no Aztecs.
    Is there gonna be a America Invasion thing?

    No you did it right. If it says 1.02 that means that it's working. Patch 1.2 = version 1.02. And in SS, while you can't play as the aztecs, they are still there. In the campaign you'll still be able to go to the Americas and kill them.

    A sure fire way to know if SS is working is if all the loading screens have pictures from Kingdom of Heaven on them.
