Installing Kingdoms - A How To
I've had all kinds of problems installing the game. Here's the how to do it with the retail DVD's.
Uninstall the game, copy your saved games, delete the sega folder in program files.
Run the reg cleaner Regsupreme. Fix all registry entries it finds in the aggressive scan then reboot.
Install Total War II.
Then install Kingdoms. It looks as though kingdoms first updates the game from 1.00.000 to 1.02.001 then to 1.03.000, then installs the campaings you've selected.
I'm to the point where it's actually installing the campaigns. Hopefully it's going to let me play them without problems when the install is done.
What's really sad is this game takes up 10 gb of storage space on my computer.

Re: Installing Kingdoms - A How To
I had a problem with the installation, as I have found the solution I put it here in this thread.
The version installed was a french version. I had a fatal error (no indication only a box to click with a "OK" mention) when I was launching any campaign of MTW2 Kingdoms. The starting screen was the one of MTW2. So I suspected the shortlinks and created bat files to launch each campaign like if it was a mod (so a bat file and a cfg file).
And here it worked... but with the shortlinks, it doesn't work.
Kill one man, and you are a murderer. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god.

Hey Ralendil...
Can you please explain in more detail how do I "create the bat files to launch each campaign like it was a mod"?
thanks
