New World Event

Hi guys,

Who knows when the New World is discovered...? In my hoary old HRE campaign I have carracks and gothic knights and reiters and am fully New World-Ready and New World-Compliant and whatever. 1492 has passed, and I had thought that was when Columbus Sailed the Ocean Blue, but that's so Not True, not in this campaign anyway. So when do I get to sail the Westerlies?

You have to put your men on a shis and head to the New Wolr.
Once you can seen the shore, youll have a new event, that will tell you youve found a new world, then war with the aztecs.

The file descr_events contains all the info about all events and when they happen.

if you have the Carracks , Just set sail for the west you will prompt the new world event have fun fighting the vast amount of Aztec warriors.

When you do get there take Cannons. And Muskets/Arquebusiers. And lots of Heavy Inf or Cav. Otherwise dont bother. I wish their was a "Give Smallpox" option lol

Yes heavy infantry and cavalry is key to winning, lol smallpoxs!

Okay thanks guys, I have Gothic knights, zweihanders, reiters and all manner of artillery I can bring. I just hope the world doesn't end soon, its already 1530 now...

I think you have to be an actual colonial power for the event to occur, like Spain, Portugal, France and England.

No Shaun, i sailed to the New World with the HRE (it was actually the easiest army for beating the Aztecs imo.)

Hmm, I think the New World event is pretty random, I had it in 1400. You should load up an earlier save and see if the event appears earlier cause if it's 1530 you haven't got much time left, you need a good 20 turns if you want to take Mexico from the vast Aztec armies (you'll also need another 5 turns for America, The Caribbean and Brazil- they have weak rebel armies though so they're a lot easier).
