Trouble with daemon vs securom

I just bought kingdoms and I could not install it.
There came an error telling me daemon was running. I uninstalled daemon.
Still did not work.
Then I took drastic measures and downloaded some kind of secureom blocker, Installed it but I still cant play it!
It says I have daemon tools running, hmm, where the hell is daemon supposed to run on my comp since i have uninstalled it.

what do I do?

Use ctrl+shift+esc to open up the task manager. Go to the processes tab and sort by name; if there's a process called 'daemon' running, kill it

Strange. I have Daemon Tools running all the time. I installed the game, rebooted because I had to shut down the Process Explorer, and then played with the DVD in the drive. Daemon Tools 4.10 installed. 4.09 is too old. What you can do though, is to use Yasu 1.4 to hide your virtual drives if it still gives you problems.
