It seems you missed the boat on how the campaigns work. They're 4 seperate "mods", just official mods. Think like Civ IV.
now i know, how it was possible to add 10 new factions. i wan't!!!
they make 4 new mini games and forget to tell us, that it is not possible to play with all factions together.
positive thing. new ressources. one of them is salt, but in my private version of my mod there is salt too.
