Default how can i change faction heir?

hey all- can anyone tell me how to change the faction heir in this mod-i cant remember if you can change the heir in vanilla either...know you can in RTW obviously... thanks for any help, oh and while im asking questions... i use ss4.0 at the moment, but hate the traits... especially lack of loyalty from family members and them diseases... does 4.1's traits file change this much??

You can't. They took the option out of Medieval 2.

alright, thought so...bah! thanks for the response guys, but it was a double question really... can anyone tell me about the 4.1 traits file- does it improve loyalty (i.e less offends nobles chances) and does it disable some of those annoying reality traits...?

yes, that is one of the biggest changes in 4.1, it removes overconfidence and another really annoying trait (cant remmeber which) entirly, and loyalty is also helped through the decrease in negative loyalty traits. it also switches to rc and in general is better. although you should replace vanilla ai, which it uses with a differn one, i suggest lusted's ai, there is a link in my sig to it.

thanks for the reply guys, yeah nightbringer as question tho if you dont mind- can i dl 4.1 and use the traits file and nothing else- cos i have sooooo many little changes ive done myself to 4.0 that i have it nearly like i want it- and dont wanna lose all them changes... and you said i should replace vanilla AI with lusted's?? will this screw up my current campaign(i assume so) and will his strat file still have all the same factions and so on as ss4.0??

oh and P014K haha a rather drastic idea that id had myself too!! but i aint prepared to kill off any family members- each and every soldier and family member are precious to me haha-they're all mine, mine i tell you!

You can choose your faction heir. Its simple. Just send the current one on a suicide mission. I suggest sending him single-handedly into a large rebel army.

If the man you want to be faction heir isn't chosen, just repeat the process until you do.

e.g. In a Holy Roman Empire campaign, I killed off a whole side of the family tree, just to get a 10 star general to become faction heir. (this was late game, so I had enough family members to space)

Now, though, you don't wanna kill off too many people, because then if you are left with not too many family members, the remaining ones might die and you will be destroyed as a nation.
