faced with a dilema and what is the unspecified error?

alright well the darn lithuanians attacked me at one of my cities. its a a large town with about 150 militia and around 200 archers. they are attacking me with around 1000 troops fairly even between infantry, archers, and cavalry.

i know i could probably hold them off easily enough but everytime i go into the battle i get a unspecified error and the game exits. so i have to decide whether to auto resolve or not but if i auto resolve then i'm sure the computer will lose the battle for me. i have a reinforcement army on the way but it's only around 200 troops as it was meant to help out the garrison force just in case they needed it. so should i just auto resolve it, or does anyone else have another idea i have not thought of?

and does anyone know what the unspecified error is?

I have the same problem, only as the French. I'm playing LTC 2.?
I tried autoresolve but it didn't help, the game crashed anyway... I don't know what to do and I've more or less given up that campain. Waiting for Kingdoms

i wouldn't hinge your hopes on kingdoms. this file is on kingdoms and it's still happening. the same thing did happen to me in MTW2 with unspecified error whenever i attacked berlin.

does anyone know what the unspecified error is?

the save and resolve technique always work. and plus no one will ever know

I get this not only in the bigger battles. To test it I booted up medieval_crusades and tried it (crash) then Brittania (crash) then Americas (crash then teutonic (no crash, because I used a total of 400 guys in both sides). This only started after I installed Kingdoms + patched ot 1.2 and its driving me nuts. I have the same problem as the OP. Can I really use autoresolve knowing the the comp will probably lose?
