Default Am I the only one that cheats?

I completely own the AI in army battles.

But I hate the navy battles. Especially when I outnumber the enemy and the enemy still defeats me. And especially when I have a full stack and they die in a battle I should have won.

In these cases, I like to reload my saved games.

I've never reloaded my game. The only cheat I use is the disable fog-of-war one and that's only been for my last few campaigns to see what's really going on heh.

I don't reload navy battles, I don't see the point in that it's pure randomness anyway... I just keep big fleets (and pay high upkeeps but I want to be sure...)

I sometimes reload when one of my assassins dies in action.

    Mmmmmm
sorry to be the one that tells you but if you need to cheat in medII to win you really suck at it

    Heheheh
no man just kidding...I agree sometimes that gets on my nerves too but I have instated the policy of never realoading despite what happens.

Sometimes its pretty hard for example when you made some stupid mistake or your 5 star general gets killed chargin peasants but I guess it simulates what rutless dictators did all the time so at least its historically acurate and thats always a good aim IMHO.

Dont ofuscate yourself! It's pointless to resist . . .

I never cheat. It takes the fun out of the game.
"There is a difference between what is wrong and what is evil. Evil is committed when clarity is taken away from what is clearly wrong, allowing wrong to be seen as less wrong, excusable, right, or an obligatory commandment of the Lord God Almighty.

Evil is bad sold as good, wrong sold as right, injustice sold as justice. Like the coat of a virus, a thin veil of right can disguise enormous wrong and confer an ability to infect others."

    No difference.

What annoys me is when I want to see how many steps it will take a character to move to a location (right click and hold) and I accidentally direct the character some place I didn't want them to go.

    I have to reload then

Yeah, I think reloading if your spy dies or something could be consider cheating, but if your whole army takes off on some round-about trail going the opposite of where you told them to go, I think it's safe to reload because that is some BS.

Are we talking reloading or cheating? I don't reload very often, but I sometimes use toggle_fow, and process_cq if I'm bored.

I was referring the reload process as cheating.

BTW, what is the toggle_fow, and process_cq ?

with toggle fow u can see the whole map without the fog and with the process cheats u can automaticly finish all the soldiers or buildings that are in the queue.

I only cheat in games where:

A - I just want to see what happens in the story.

    B - the game breaks/cheats itself.

C - The cheats make things more interesting e.g. extra gore, crazy traffic, riots, extra items/guns/spells, that sort of thing.

I don't cheat when I'm playing a 'proper' campaign in M2 except in the case of 'B'.

Not too sure that reloading a saved game is cheating or not. I guess it depends on why you needed to do it. When I think of cheating or cheaters I think of opening the console and filling your pockets with florins with a few keystrokes or giving your generals all the best stats and making the game completely one sided to the point there is no question that you are going to win every time. Reloading a saved game after you lose a fight maybe cheating but your not changing the balance of the game you just want a rematch so I don't know if that's really a cheat. I guess if you do it every time you lose a battle just because you never want to lose a battle then I would say maybe your cheating now. Or at the very least abusing the save feature. I don't cheat at all do not use console, do not replay a battle because I lost it just let it play out as it is really. A couple times when I was first starting to get acquainted with M2 I had some money problems that caused me to re-start back like 20 to 30 years to see what I did wrong and if I could correct my financial situation but this met that I also wiped out many excellent battles and even territories acquired in those years by essentially starting over at a much earlier point in the game. I think if your using the saved game feature in this way it's a learning tool more than a way to cheat. At any rate, I hate cheating myself it takes away so much from the game people who cheat are the ones always complaining how easy the game is on Vh/Vh you see them all over any of the forums. I notice too that cheaters love to hate this game I think the reason is they never learned how to really play the game so cheating makes it fun for a little while then they get bored of the game quickly because they always win. That's why I don't cheat. I really don't think you are cheating if your using the save feature as a learning tool in order to go back and see what you did wrong. But again you should not abuse the save feature either.

I only reload on autosolve battles if i lose.. mainly cus i know i would win them if i did them myself but do not wanna have to do every single battle myself (takes to long.. .and with a laggy pc it is just not very enjoyable)

Same, except the laggy PC part, I just don't play every battle.

If it's a battle I know I can win, and I lose, then I will reload the saved game and play it myself. If I lose that, then I don't reload.

If you consider that cheating, then call me a cheater.

I do sometimes when, for example, my max finance merchant tries to take a 2F merchant and get eaten :/

For battles I don't as it takes away from the fun and challenge.

Otherwise I just use toggle_fow to look around (mostly at the minimap) and see whats going on sometimes.

I sometimes use the Process_cq cheat because say your on your 100th turn and you take a rebel settlement. They don't have a market, barracks, roads, port and any other basic buildings.

I just wish the Rebel cities would build buildings

When this happens I usually just upgrades all basic buildings up 2 levels. If its a castle only 1 level.
