    Default New factions?

    This mod's great guys. Big map... excellent extra factions, great work on everything and it runs FAST (which is rather important). The titles system and ancilleries all work great (although adoption seems a little bugged in terms of who gets what but thats rather common otherwise I've found nothing I can fault). Would like to play a PBM soon or maybe right an AAR or both after this game... anyway...

    Any chance of an Cicilian Armenia faction? I would love an extra orthodox faction and otherwise this mods perfect.

    surely they will be some in the future.... we need to get Torn back , as at the momment no one is volunteering to do that kind of work.... but it is planned to add new factions, although not sure it will be Cilician Armenia

    * Aragon
    * Independent Kingdoms
    * Georgia
    * Genoa (Possibly to replace Milan)
    * Volga Bulgars or Zirid Caliphate

    BTW why did you guys add in Muslum princesses? Islam is practicly based on war and taking away womens power. Not only that... but all of the princesses don't have their faces covered when presumably they would infact be in public.

    Islam at that time was more liberal than today (!). I agree that the women would be more restricted than a modern western woman, but so would a european princess. The danish term for a young maidens rooms in the medieval times was "jomfru bur" (meaning "virgin cage").

    So aoutonomous princesses from the islamic world is no more silly than free-roaming catholic princesses imho.

    On the other hand I think it was to allow marriage-alliances between islamic factions, and that was practiced at the time iirc.

    @ darkarbiter in the early age of the medieaval period the muslim society was the most advanced culture at the time. The western world at that time was a bunch a savages and only due to translating books from arabic[mostly in the islamic part of Spain] towards hebrew and than translated into latin. we would never have known about the so beloved Greek culture.

    As well under Muslim rule everyone had a freedom of choice about religion, although they had to pay some extra taxes instead of the narrowminded westerners at that time guided by an intolerant pope

    You can always make your own faction by cloning another one, so that the Georgians are basically a clone of the Byzantines, or the Lithuanians are merely Saxons with some extra mercs recruit able from their national barracks. I used the Norman and Saxon slots to make additional factions in an earlier Beta, and I was able to add in Pagan factions without too much work as well. Unfortunately, 2.0 doesn't have those Norman/Saxon Buildings or unit roster, so the easiest way to create a faction would be to clone an existing faction, which is not something I was prepared to do while this mod was evolving (too much work). Since it seems to be stalled, I will try to add in the following factions if I can figure out how to do it.

    Baltic Tribes- Russian Clone with Lithuanian archers and calvary recruitable from the national barracks and Paganism as religion

    Cumans - Pagan Kwarsemid Empire clone located on Western side of Caspian sea

    Georgia - Byzantine clone with more horse archers

    Ireland - Scotland clone

    Also I intend to make the Mongols pagan and give the Byzantines an Italian province...

    If I am successful at creating one or more of these factions, I will post the files in the user modification/tweaks thread. Unfortunately, these files would be unlikely to be compatible with any new beta releases, such as the eventual 2.10... That is why I haven't volunteered aggressively to pursue this project. Like everyone else I have been waiting for the inevitable update that was formerly a weekly occurrence for this mod.

    Well, I wouldn't be making any new skins anyway, so it is easier to clone an existing non-irish faction. Otherwise I would have to get the new units and map them to the appropriate building, which is a lot of frustrating trial and error work. More importantly, I don't own kingdoms yet and I won't for a few more weeks since my region always is late at PC game releases - it is very rural where I live...

    There are other mods as well that are for adding a specific faction, like Lithuania is really well done by someone for example. IMO that would be better than taking things from kingdoms.

    Though if Kingdoms has something that other people have not made, like ireland and wales, i would love to see it in this.

    IMO I like anything that reduces rebel territory. I want to play a mod that has almost none what so ever like what was in MTW original with MTW XL.

    I would still stress the need for more Italian factions to represent the absolute turmoils of the Italian warring states.

    Lombardy(Milan)
    Savoy
    Florence
    Genoa
    Pisa
    Modena
    Papal States
    Kingdom of Naples
    Kingdom of Sicily
    Venice

    imo, these should all be represented and were major, although small, powers in the MA/Renaissance. For their size, they held more sway the many larger states, through trade and force of arms.

    I wish that CA did not cap the factions available in this game or take away sapping. This game would rock if we could have @50 factions.

    ooh dear the irish again, please do not destroy Torn's legacy by adding that insignificant country. Ireland did not exist until 1916!

    @condottiere sog those italian states ask for a mod itself this world is not made for more italian states. This map is for the bigger picture and not for civil war in Italy. This game is about conquerring lands.

    Agreed... apart from the fact that half the people on the list are ingame.

    The only problem with 30+ factions is the slow down at end turn. DLV for example...

    I believe 30 is the faction limit (including rebels).
