Problem with Kingdoms?

I was under the impression that you didnt need to have MTW2 installed to play Kingdoms? Isn't it a seperate game all together? I have MTW2 and am installing it now, but since I bought Kingdoms via Direct2Drive I dont got much diskspace, and the installer is taking FOREVER to apply the patches to the first MTW2.


I remember reading in a FAQ that you dont need MTW2 to play Kingdoms.


(BTW, I've been wating the install, and its takin one hour 10 minutes to put the 1.2 patch in, and the bar is full yet it wont finish)

I think you do need the Med2 original to play Kingdoms as it uses files from the vanilla. Although i could be wrong but i think i am right

Also id never download off somewhere like D2D, i like ot have the hard copy with me at all times!

Ah, that may be right then. Because the installer says "Cannot Find MTW2 Files" or something of that sort. I could have sworn I read you dont need MTW2, if I had known I would have just bought a hard copy.

No its an expansion pack just like VI was.

rhaaaa!! i am not english and my lander, MTW2K will be available in 2 week!! i cant wait enough!!

It just takes a long time to install.

Yeah, takes about an hour to install all four campaigns. But if you're in a rush you can install them seperately, so install the one you want to play right off and wait to install the others.

All told takes up 4.18GB I think.
