    Default Lag waves/Battle lag waves

First, for some reason there is some battles while identical to other battles in almost every way that cause my comp to go crazy.

This also causes my computer to lag when finishing the battle and going back to the campaign map and can keep me from actually working back at the campaign map for up to 15 minutes.

Any input on what the problem is would be very useful, the graphics settings ive had on have been relatively low with the exception of high unit detail (still looks crappy).

If its a virus does anyone know a reliable free anti virus program... my computers subscription to norton has expired......

I could be many things, what patch are you running? What unit scale are your running? As for a virus, i cant think that it would affect your total war game, but who knows with a virus. A free virus program that many people use is AVG. You can get it here AVG
The only draw back is that they get their defs later then ones your sometimes pay for, but its free so what do you expect? Good luck!

    Peace

Sometimes i make sigs like mine, if you want one pm me.

You have any extra processes running in the background? You could try defragging your hard drive, especially given the size of this game.

I think a defrag might be a partial answer.

Sounds like Low Ram, The delay would be your PC using a small amount of the ram to push and process all it needs to do. think of it like trying to transport a large sudden grain pile from one end of a room to another using a small pail. Faster the CPU the faster the worker, Larger the ram - bigger the pail.

The question is why is M2TW dumping on your ram and causing it to bog up. As if shifts from Combat to main screen. Although to mentioned the Lag was also in combat.

So perhaps somthing for what ever reason we have yet to find out, has annoyed the great PC gods and starts a 'glitch' or hole in your game while combat is active, this hole eating resouces starts a chainreaction hickup down the line untill your PC starts surging "boost of power, process, Boost of power Process" also known as lag waves or Chugging.

Then when the battle ends, all that left over data and the hole need to be flushed and the data for the campain loaded and perhaps the hole and the artifacts it creates for what ever reason, bog your ram as noted above and presto you wait 15mins for your PC to process everything and get you back to stable.

Thats my guess and to test it, post your PC specs and try running the game on superlow everything when this bug occuors. or Exit battle immidaly when this bug happens and see if the delay is shorter or longer. This will show if your PC is at fault (Low CPU, RAM ect.) or if a hole is growing during game durations (quick leave).

    Best O' Luck.
