    Default DLV 4.03 settlement names, coordinates, faction, region name

    As byproduct of the unhealthy environment mod I am working on I made this list with all settlements, the coordinates of these, the faction at start and the region name, not as in descr_regions but as shown on the campaign map.

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    Problem solved, no longer valid. It would not be me if there was not a twist, I only found 186 regions when the desc_region file says it is 187. So I must have missed one and i can't find it, I tried until I ripped my hair out and I don't have so much hair to waste.

    Therefore, the first who finds the region I missed so I can include it here will get rep from me with personal thanks. (I believe that Helsinki is the miscreant, but I give up)

    This file could be useful for anybody who wants to make a modification to any settlement and does not want to go through the whole descr.strat first and identify settlements by their garrison and garrison position.

    Please be aware that the region names are in no way coherent to each other, neither in writing style nor in consistency of naming. Not my bad, looks like everyone who contributed regionwise had an other idea of how to name them. Ofc I am only human and I am due to make errors so please excuse the usual typos and stuff, the coordinates should be 100% correct.

    I hope this helps, the devs must already have something similar but I haven't found it so I just made my own. Now if I could just find the missing region (area 51?). Well the desc_regions and settlement names shows 372 lines, so half of it would be 186 which would be the number of my file, but why does the descr_regions show 187?

    Thanks a lot Furin, I'm going to start my scripting adventures soon and certainly this will be most useful

    (hm, just guessing.. maybe it would be really some kind of area 51, for debug/tests, some hidden stuff?)

    +rep asap!

    @Furin.

    Do you mean you've counted 187 regions in the descr_region file?

    The sea is counted as a region but it's only the Aquaphibians that live there.

    Unfortunately I'm old enough to remember Stingray, 2nd or 3rd time round it was repeated on British TV. These were the days long before CGI & not even many cartoons were shown back then. Yes this was the day when puppets & strings ruled the airwaves and Troy Tempest, captain of the submersible Stingray, used to alternate between fighting the Aquaphibians & lusting after the mute, water breathing Marina.

    (offtopic) I must say the mute, water breathing, Marina has quite sexy loose eyes

    Were these series the same "kind" of that one where an (english?) army made from the same dwarf-look w/big head was attacking by sea, air, etc? I watched a full movie of it once and was preety good!

    I don't actually remember an army show, like you describe. Stingray was made by Gerry Anderson who also made Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Fireball XL-5 & UFO (which used real people but the acting was just as wooden).

    Yes, didn't take us long to go seriously off-topic. Glad to see it's not only the British that used wooden effigy's to entertain their children in ye Olden days

    Found one typo in the file, Caernavon instead of the correct Cearnarvon, file has been updated.
