Camera issues during Battle

Hey, I just finished playing Rome and love it.
Anyway, I bought MTW 2 and everthing works great and the camera zooms in and out and controls perfectly on the map screen then I get in to a battle and this is where my troubles start..

Once I am in a battle the arrow keys and mouse are unresponsive. Basically if I try to zoom out just a little it hesitates and zooms me out completely (same with zooming in) if I try to pan left or right it hesitates then goes too far. When I try to select a unit with my mouse it hesitates before doing anything. Basically screws the whole battle expeirience up. The guys fight okay, I just have no control (or very inaccurate.)

I sucessfully downloaded the 1.2 patch and still have the problem.
My PC is brand new, running on Windows Vista, and Rome worked fine on it.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Any ideas for fixing this cause the game is awesome minus this problem.

Rome worked just fine for me.

Have you tried updating drivers? Rome doesn't require as much as M2TW. Have you played around with the different settings to see if you notice anything different?
