    Default Gunz port forward

I play a game called Gunz (or at least I want too)

but apparently it requires port forwarding, the only site I can find on port forwarding requiring a product I must buy...

    Can anyone help me?

Not quite sure what you are asking. Here is the site I have always used. It has a listing for Gunz.

Are you behind a router of some kind? That is, do you share an Internet connection with other people, or do you have your own? If you share a connection with others, do you know whether you're a) paying for individual IP addresses or b) paying for a single shared IP (generally cheaper)?

Try going to a website like www.whatismyipaddress.com to find out your "outside" IP address. Then go to Start -> Run -> "cmd" -> OK -> type in "ipconfig" at the command prompt and hit enter. That gives you your "inside" IP address. If the two IP addresses, the inside and the outside one, are the same, you probably do not need port forwarding. If they're different, you probably do.

The only scenario where you need port forwarding is when multiple computers are on a single Internet connection with a single IP address, using a router with "Network Address Translation" (NAT). If you are in this scenario, you need to find out what your router is. It's typically a small box that connects to your Internet connection on one side and all your computers on the other. Get the manufacturer's name and model and post them here, and/or look yourself on the manufacturer's website for documentation on how to forward ports.

You never need any commercial product to do port forwarding, if you do need it (it's built into your router).
