Has anyone here ever attempted a campaign as the Rebels? I have tryed before, and its hard. HARD. You have no money, and have to let enemies kill each other.
Talk about rebel campaigns (if any) and possibly even make an AAR.

Never ever, got an idea playin as en Rebel. It would be nice if CA would include something to be as a Rebel Faction fightin for your indenendence or something, but scriptin by yourself and being just a Rebel i mean i dont personaly like that.![]()
"You just have to accept people for what they are, and I learned the greatest gift of all. The saddest thing in life is wasted talent, and the choices that you make will shape your life forever".
i have worked it out. it takes a lot of micro management.
the first thing you have to do every turn is delete all un necessary units... this means a lot of deleting as you get new rebel armies turning up every turn.
next thing, delete all units in cities you expect to loose... and keep minimal garrison units in cities you want to keep as well, it doesnt matter if your city is red faced as its already rebelled, and you wont suffer damage from riots anyway.
then build yourself a core area to concentrate on, forget the rest of the map. get all your trade buildings and roads and ports going, you are going to need them as money for rebels is slow in coming. dont worry about barracks or stables etc, as they dont give you new units, the only units you'll be able to recruit are those that are already there in turn 1, you may not even need to do much recruiting anyway given the number of units you'll get given.
i suggest the best core area to start with is spain, as you get el cid on turn 1, and valencia lets you recruit knights.
dont forget, delete all un necessary units.
i lasted about 15 turns before my money started to slip below zero and i got bored, but it gets tedious after a while. its actually quite easy to take over the map, you get enough units given to you. but staying financially solvent is difficult and requires a lot of unit deletion every turn.. gets a little boring.

IN PATROCINIVM SVB MARENOSTRUM
I simply defend cities as I can, and use Brigands and rebel armies to be wasted. I also try to uproot all of my troops from the cities around Russia. Then, when I killed Russia, I get the survivors, AND a generally secure area AND a potential empire destroyed.
