    Default PC optimizers (REALLY WORKS!)

Hey, I'm making this thread to help me and lots of others in need of such software.

So far, the optimizers I used are made to clean up the errors and ease the usage of your CPU...and that kind of worked.

    EDITED AND ADDED PART:
But what I was looking for is something really good, something made for games, something that does all the tweaking and boosting of your system.
That, I found...and it really works:
First I got the demo which was crippled compared to the full version, after trying the demo I notice a little bit of performance boost, but overall it wasn't enough...then I got the full version, this one's a monster, I can play M2TW perfectly now, the program also shuts down every single process when you start your game, and restarts the processes when you exit the game, ofcourse this is just one of many features, it also defragments memory (not just the hardisk, also the memory).

It's like a dream come true.

    Pick it up here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/Game_Accelerator_d4062.html

Really recommend registering the product, you can still keep the demo forever, but it's worth it to upgrade, really worth it.

    Enjoy!!

    Thanks for reading

Well, Ive never used a utility, nor do I know of any, most of what you are looking to do must be done yourself.

This site will take you step by step through optimization of your video card, Win Xp/Vista and your web browser, as well as individual games.

On the left hand side their is a menu.

Or for xp/vista you can download the entire 'tweaking companion' in pdf format here:

I would be dubious of the value of most "optimizers". It's easy to see a subjective performance gain when there's really nothing significant that happened. At worst, you can significantly screw up your computer. Generally the only real answers are to shut down unneeded processes, tweak in-game settings, and buy better hardware. There's no magic bullet I know of in OS configuration that will significantly improve performance, other than disabling unnecessary processes.

Edit: Especially not for the graphics card. When you're running a game full-screen, it's the one and only thing using the GPU and the entire motherboard architecture dedicated to supporting it. Nothing's going to make that faster or slower other than changing game settings, overclocking, or getting a better card.

Tweaking and optimizing is really for people like myself who spend more time tinkering around than actually playing games. Most of the times as you say, any gains are negligible. However using some graphics card utilities such as ATI tray tools allows you the ability to alter a myriad of things through advanced registry tweaks that can ultimately improve performance. I myself have seen nice improvements in my 3d mark scores and more importantly in actual fps gains in games. I started off with the guide above years ago, and have since gone well beyond that.

Actually I just found one that works and now I can play high detail with 1,000 men on each army! I can't believe my eyes. It's as if I upgraded my PC.

Is there a way to get the full copie for free?

There is, but pirating is not allowed to discuss on those forums, sorry.
