    Default Laptop advice

Im in the market for a cheapish laptop. I seen this one at Officeworks, for AU $749. I only need it for writing essays and casual internet use for study, so dont look at it as a poor gaming machine or anything, i was just wondering if its good quality etc, I cant really afford much more than this so if anyone has any other recommendations id be glad to hear them.

AU, thats Australian right? Whats the approx conversion rate, and are computers over there usually more expensive than in N. America? Also, the site that you linked to, are the prices there in AU as well?

Before I know that, can't really tell if its a good deal or not... though the only thing I can say that is "good" about it, is its fairly small... don't get anything bigger than 14.1". Also, try to find out its weight and battery life. Personally, I haven't heard too many good things about Acer, but it all depends on the model. You should look for forums where people review laptops to get a better idea of what you're getting before hand. Try these 2 sites:
