It seems to me that this particular section of the TWC Forums is LOADED with a bunch, huge bunch, of bitter and pessimistic atheists.
How did they become that way?
Lets' discuss this.

Well, most atheists (at least the hardcore ones) are in their early teens, and as we all know teenagers tend to be highly moody and angry at the world for no apparent reason. Later on people tend to at the very most become agnostics, although quite a lot more just pay lip service to their faith but don't actively practice it.
Finally someone who understands....
They just have a hole inside themselves. They either probably had something tragic happen that shook their believes to the core, and made them bitter towards god.

As a former atheist, i must say the complete lack of any spirituality sucked and blowed at the same time.
Someone can't be bitter towards something he/she doesn't believe in. It's like me being angry at Santa for not getting me a 360 when I know doesn't exist.
Well that covers most of the stereotypes. At least now we can start talking about reality.
I'd also like to remind people that centurion is one case of former atheism. That doesn't mean it applies to all atheists.
EDIT: Plus, at the OP, I don't think most atheists are bitter or pessimistic on this board. They just seem like chill people to me.

This is a good point. As for me, it's kind of hard to believe that there is an ominous being looking over me when my mother passes away, my grandfather passes away, and one of my best friends passes away all within 5-6 years. Not too mention friends relatives passing... I don't know, if there is a god somewhere, I feel he took leave from Earth a long time ago...

Wow, the anti-atheism in here is astounding (and enough to warrant a couple of reports).
We have nothing to live for, that's why.

generalise much? Why are Atheisists such bitter and miserable people?
if you actually felt something lacking you weren't really very atheisti must say the complete lack of any spirituality sucked and blowed at the same time.
hardly, Richard Dawkins is probably the worlds most famous atheist and he's hardly in his teens...nor was, say, Richard Feynman who described himself as 'as atheist as they come' nor is David Attenborough...etcWell, most atheists (at least the hardcore ones) are in their early teens

Well if you are an atheist you shouldn't really feel like something is missing in your life, because as far as you're concerned it doesn't exist. I am a happily optimistic idealist who loves life, and im an atheist. So hardly bitter and miserable.

It's obviously because Satan has corrupted our souls and made us do abortions in our spare time.
1) The creation of the world is the most marvelous achievement imaginable.
2) The merit of an achievement is the product of (a) its intrinsic quality, and (b) the ability of its creator.
3) The greater the disability (or handicap) of the creator, the more impressive the achievement.
4) The most formidable handicap for a creator would be non-existence.
5) Therefore if we suppose that the universe is the product of an existent creator we can conceive a greater being — namely, one who created everything while not existing.
6) Therefore, God does not exist.

You probably get the impression they're "bitter and pessimistic" in this section of the forum because as Adnan stated this is the only place they can speak out against religion. And being the group that disagrees with everyone else on a subject is bound to portray you in a bad light.

I think they probably become upset because of the utterly poor quality of the arguments. Eventually anyone would get upset after being handed hogwash after hogwash.

The same could be said about us Christians facing hogwash arguments from Atheists.

See. That sort of utter nonsense is what pisses people off.

The Bible can be verified, several archaeologists have used it to find the locations of several Mesopotamian cities.
Also, the same can also be said about atheist arguments, for example, that whole bit about, "god not being logic" when a God would easily be able to eclipse logic and laws of science.

You just argued that the Empire State building proves the existence of King Kong; since the existence of ancient cities automatically proves the truth of everything else in the Bible according to you. And since God doesn't have to make any sort of sense, God could make a rock so huge that he couldn't lift it; a logical impossibility.
So you bet your ass I'm arrogant. I have every right to be in the face of that tripe.
