Relocated your entire nation from the start of a campaign?
Put everything in a boat and just settle somewhere else and such
Especially factions like Russia seem boring to me with their huge lands.

It shouldn't be that hard to trade a few cities of the ones you abandon and conquer the others quickly with your starting troops probably.


Also, what do you guys consider the best places to go to?
What cities are eventually the most profitable for example?
Because I don't like to expand too much. In my Venice campaign currently I just have 4 cities and 1 castle. And one foothold (Juruzalem) to fight off the Mongols etc...

Constantinople is most advanced at the start of the game as far as I know but what others are great?

Especially being close to eachother is a big plus. Milan's 2 starting area's and the 3 next to the left are all within soldier walk range of eachother. It saves a lot on defence which you can spread out (militia).

For defensive/roleplaying purposes England is probably a good spot to go to also.
How's their cities fully developed economics wise? A lot of ports is nice but isn't there less trade income etc..?

I did it once with the Moors, I settled on an island in the new world and I gave all my previous land to scotland, they became very strong and actually had the guts to attack england back in europe (which I have never seen when both sides were ai controlled), but they lost against england of course and they were defeated by spain in Iberia and North Africa.

I did it on BI, it was very easy with the horde system. You can just abandon your last settlement and have about 4-5 huge stacks as a horde.

Relocated to Lisbon as the Turks. Set everyone on a boat, called a jihad to Lisbon, and off I went. Gave my territories away to the Byzantines and Iconium to the Moors.

Now all of Spain is Turkish, and my troops - no longer having to fight off the Mongols - are incredibly strong compared to my new neighbors.

I might try to re-locate venetians, into mainland italy, but the problem usually lies in the fact that quite early in the game, the bloody byzantines might just as well invade you. Hungarians and HRE are also ready there to backstab you.
I just don't always have the time to walk a diplomat somewhere and give the territories to them. Then its kinda like a worthless trip if the declare war on you.
And byzantines might get overly strong, just like HRE if I gave them free lands, maybe I'll try to give em to Hungary instead, they are pretty crappy even after that

I never, never give regions to anyone. The French destroyed the HRE and the Italians. France once ruled large parts of Europe but were to aggressive to a loyal ally of the pope (me ). France was therefore excommunicated a lot and the pope attacked France. The French never sued for peace and were squashed by the pope. In the end all the French had left was Budapest and the pope was a superpower. An alliance with the pope can be a nice thing sometimes.

Extraordinary!!! In none of my games does the Pope fight anybody, and I played RTJ, DV and Vanilla...
Do I have a bug or something?? I'm playing for the first time with a Chatolic faction now - HRE and I controll the pope and I pay him big money to attack somebody but he just wont do it! And when I tried to give him a province, he accepted it but then he excomunicated me so I had to go back a turn!
Will somebody pls. explain??

I give cities to the Pope when I don't want them (too far) but I also want to weaken somebody who would hold them otherwise (Mongols).

I like this relocation fun, I relocate to Constantinople a lot. Already relocated there Ireland, Denmark, Novgorod, Portugal, Moors and Kievian Rus. :-)

Hmmm I think that Engand is one of the best starting points. The scottish are easy to destroy and once you have the entire island take Ireland and than noone can attack you without a ship, cutting them off from most reinforcments. Trade is actually very good because of ports and London starts out as a very good city. I have taken over the English Isles with the Turks, The Russians, Scotland, and The Moors.

i did it once with the HRE faction i took all the family members to the england as acting as horde and attack the nottingham, and london at the same time and game my hre own lands to the france. it was quite easy after becaming islanders because it seems lot safe

no never have sailed to a new starting position but i have sold land to the Aztecs in the old world for fun they where soon beating back the papacy and ripping down holy places and constructing there temples.

actually it's not your game contain bug and MA have the bug because papacy shouldnt take cities unless we grand them.
