    PHOENIX SKIN PACK (for SS 4.1)

    Version 4

    Released

    Campaign map changes:

    -all north and south european cities, towns, ... reskinned

    -Many figures reskinned:
    all units: England, France, HRE, Denmark,
    all important units: Sicily, Spain, Venice, Milan (I think )



    Battle map changes:

    -all north and south european cities, towns, ... reskinned (including all walls)
    -new shields for every faction (thx to JoeDreck)
    -new skins for Sicily, Milan, Venice, Portugal, Aragon (all are almost comlete, officers, shields and horses included)

    Hey I think I've noticed a bug. Just a did a CB as Venice and the "Broken Lances" unit has invisible weapons and shields, it happened with the mounted and dismounted versions, with or without armor upgrades.


    *****EDIT***** K did a CB with Venice and Milan with only Broken lances on both sides. Milan has no problems, however for Venice the mounted guys have no weapons or shields. Even stranger is that at certain distances a faint traces of a lance is barely visible. For Venice the dismounted guys have shields but their weapons are invisible.

    "invisible weapons" ? are they completely unvisible or only the skins ? Can you make a screenshot ? I only worked with skins. And what do you mean with " faint traces" ? Flags ? I didn t change flags at all ?

    Does anybody have similar problems ?

    The Campaign map models look amazing, really adds a lot of variety between the characters.

    Hey phoenix. If you were able to reskin the walls, probably you can help me with a small problem I have.

    The level of crenelations of walls is too high and archers and crossbowmen have trouble shooting over them. They either stand behind them idly or shoot in very high arcs, depending on their EDU settings.

    There is an idea to resking the walls and lower the crenelations, to allow every archer and crossbowman shoot directly down at approaching enemies. If all those crenelations weren't that high, covered the shooters maybe to their chest level, everybody would be shooting at enemies in low arcs dealing much more damage than now.

    Could you do it or maybe tell me how to do it? I mean redesigning the walls to reduce height of crenelations to the size of 1,5m instead of 2,5 like it's now.

    sry, no. You must either ask a modeler or a coder.

    Because either you might reduce the hight of these "shelter walls", this is modeling. Or you change the way of shooting somehow (coding). I am just skinning.
    Btw. for modeling you need Milkshape3D or something.

    A coder won't help since all the changes to allow them to shoot from behind those walls will also make them shoot in an insane way when deployed behind your lines.

    So we need a modeller... Hm.

    delra I'm guessing you'd have to change the crenellation height in the actual wall mesh rather than the texture. So you'd have to get someone with 3D studio max to do it...not sure if Milkshape would cut the mustard or not.

    Phoenix, I just installed your skins. I love the new building skins. They look awesome. However I've noticed a few things.

    1. I think the normal map for mailed knights need to be updated. Some details look too flat.

    2. General bodyguards shouldn't have rusted armour. These guys are the best of the best and would have the best gear and have servants to keep them in tip top condition.

    I fully agree with those quotes:

    - You made a tremendous work, greatly enhancing the game.

    - But the worned equipment of the bodyguards is not really appropriate. It would be more distinguished from those of common soldiers.

    I just instaled it. On the first hand it looks great. But after a while I see it's too dark. And offcourse the units don't have sprites and now when you zoom out they look a lot different from their original sprites. So this is a not finished product. It should come with sprites and then this would be a different thing. This way it's just anyoing.

    Yes I tottaly agree the absence of sprites kind of ruins this amazing skin work.

    I guess you are especially talking about english and french knights. The problem is that I don t know how I can assign "special normal maps". Because usually the models use all the same normal map. And this would change the appearance of the rost too.
