Moors: What units use advanced armor.

Hey, I built a Armor factory in one of my Moorish citadels expecting to get cool looking armor for my units. I figured the Christian Guards or Arab Cavalry or something would benefit from the Advanced plate but so far it seems no unit uses it. Is the armor factory useless in a Moorish campaign? And if not, which units can use its armor?

many of the units that use advanced plate come with it equipped when you recruit them. come to think about it, i'm not really sure WHICH units are even capable of being upgraded by an armor factory..

When you set up a custom battle you can check which unit can have an upgrade. Just try giving better armour to all of them.

I guess I've come to the conclusion that there is no reason to build an armor factory in Moorish castles.

Unless it makes unit recruitment cheaper... Does it?

anyway, i dont think i had a use for armor factory while playing as england, france, or HRE..

The Moors don't have units with heavy armor. The highest armor upgrade is level 3 (mail) for most units. Only the bodyguard has level 4 (heavy mail) as an upgrade. Building a smith above level three (2,400 florins) is a waste of money.

There are actually very few (if any?) units which profit from the armour factory.

In vanilla, I have never heard of any unit to profit from the advanced armour factory. In fact, I can remember quite a lot of threads about it when it first came out ... "OMG WHO USES THE ADV ARMOUR FACTORY!!!???". Yes, really.

As far as I can remember the only thing an armour factory does is giving your generals in there a special trait which gives him +4 hitpoints.

Italian man at arms and broken lances use advanced plate and I'm sure other Chatolic factions have late period units that can use it.
As for the Moors, the only unit that probally have plate armor is the christan guard.
