It really looks to be a total revolution. Lets hope this CA really works for its $60 on this one.

10 playable = a poor choice of words by CA.

It's the same as the 5 playable in MTWII. At least, that's almost certain. They haven't come out and said it, but it's fairly certain they'd not have 40 unplayable. It's highly, 95% or so likely that something like 35 more will be playable on top of the 10.

This is honestly the most excited I've been for a TW game. I was thinking they'd just go back to Rome and the series would go a little stale. I wouldn't mind Rome again but I am really glad they are going to a new era. Not to mention Naval Battles, oh god yes. Finally, I love naval battles.

The fighting will definitely be refreshing, more gunpowder oriented but still good old melee bashing. Can't wait to see some bayonet charges and nasty cannons blasting people.

I just can't wait to play as the Ottomans period. And if they make an expansion on the Americas, please god, add the Canadians. I'll finally be able to whine about historical inaccuracies and be a nationalistic a-hole!

We Americans (I refer to that in the Continental sense) need to band together to nationalist-badger those Europeans. They are already badmouthing the colonies being a faction, but would want the tiny duchy of ________ added!

I look forward to the Mughals, Ottomans, Maharas, and I would love to have the Durrani or Afghans. Hate the uniforms of this period in Europe, but would love playing a more rugged gunpowder approach

Canada could be added post 1867 I guess. But if Canada is a faction most of its settlements would probably have a growth rate of like 0.007.

I think Canada would be added as aBritish colony. but if it is like 35 factions playable, or even 17 I look forward to the game-unified Italy, although No Poland. and if lucky- a Playable Iran Sweden too and if more lucky-Afghanistan.

Persia 1935- shah reza pahlavi asked western countries to call the country by it's native name-Iran. as Iran means the land of Aryans, which kurds, Lors and other Iranian minorities plus Persians are. while Persia was referring to one province- Province of Fars. in Iran the country have been called " Iran" or " eranshahr" since ancient times, before sassanids king Darius and Cyrus the great used the name Iran, and Parsa.

for being so good at history, you really need to learn a bit about modern ME history. Iran was not created 1935 as it was never a colony or conquered by any European power, ever!

No, Eranshar, there was no Iran as far as a national/governing entity is concerned. Just like how there was no Canada or "Germany" or "Italy" at this time. If by "Iran" you mean the Safavid Empire then you're partially correct.

I too hope Safavid Iran will be in the game, perhaps the Afghans too. If not, perhaps it wont be too hard to use a combo of Mughal and Ottoman skins to create persian units.

well I don't understand the meaning of adding Mughal empire in India nad Ottoman empire, and leave a vast space in between which would go to Iran adn Afghanistan, do you know how many wars they fought against each other, Russia, and Uk? in in Afghanistans case, China. and in Iran's case, Portugal and the Ottoman empire. even agaisnt teh Mughals.

and Sweden is worth more than Denmark during this period!

I think they've said there's going to be 50 factions (that is the 10 playable ones + 40 unplayable ones, who can probably easily be unlocked by editing text files), and I think they've said that the focus is on America (I think North America and Carribean), Europe and India.
I also think there might be a world map, or at least something very close.

Yeah, and this will be awesome! Would be fun if they include Denmark-Norway (though with the possible 50 factions, this is actually very likely).
