My Computer Sometimes Restarts while playing.

I dunno what the problem seems to be, Sometimes when i am playing Rome, The Computer will just restart itself. Usually it happens when i go AFK for maybe 10 mins then when i get back to Rome it'll just restart as soon as i move the mouse. But... thats not all... The reason i am posting this today when i should've posted it about 2 months ago when it started happening, because i presumed it happened due to low hard disk space. I used to Usually have about 1 or 2 GB left in each disk. But recently i've freed up about 10GB in one and 6GB in the other. Ill admit it hasn't happened since. But then This morning I was browsing this forum and then my computer restarted.. but Rome wasn't even running. Has anybody else ever experienced similar problems? Btw when it restarts it is as if you pulled out the plug and the screen flickers then goes to the windows load up screen. Ive checked all the Plugs are Firmly in place.

Well, I think you should do a Virus scan, then a spyware scan; see if that picks up anything. If not, then your PM might be overheating.

Thanks. I'm running a Virus Scan right now. but if that doesn't work i think I'm gonna check my computers fan and turn off my computer for a while.

Open up your case and check for dust around the fans, as this most likely does sound like a heat issue, especially if the virus scan finds nothing. As a short term solution, leave the side of the case off and try to get cool air into the case (use a desk fan or something) and if the game doesn't crash, then you've got strong evidence for your answer.

I have a similar problem, instead of restarting, windows turns off but the computer is still on, so all there is a black screen. You May also have a Ram/harddrive problem.

Could be a harddrive issue. Open up the cmd prompt and run chkdsk.

I've hear many people with photoshop that often have hard drive problems, so I suggest we should look into that.

The fact that it is happing while playing gives a strong hint that its heat related. Get a can of air duster or vacuum cleaner and suck all the dust that’s on your CPU fan and heatsink, do the same for any case fan you might have running and whilst your at you might as well clean your video card as well.
