Customising XGM
once more i would like to thank for what you have delivered us! I still play the 2_2_1 version . I can see that the latest version has some very interesting features but i will try it on another pc because i cant afford to loose what i have now. I customised the 221 version a bit, i incorporated spartan royal guard and also made some of the elite greek units playable with macedon -except pf course lacedemonians-. i have also added athenian hoplites so far but i cannot use them in the campaign. (they are playable in custom battles)
Is this because of limitations -in terms of unit numbers- in the export_descr_buildings file. And if so can i erase some peasant units from the barracks to get the space for the new units ?
Every help on this would be great news.

Re: Customising XGM
Athenean21: It might be a hidden resource problem. If Athens doesn't have the resource "athens" in descr_regions.txt, but you have the hidden_resource as a recruitment requirement, then the unit won't show up.

Re: Customising XGM
the resource athens, is already checked by you as you have created Athenian Marine Archers. I noticed while editing that you had the note 'place holders' to athenian hoplites in the edu file. is maybe something you created in order to change atg spartan skins?
may be , im not that expert in modding

ok ! problem solved. The only thing i now have to fix is the grey peasant unit card for the athenean hoplites.

Re: Customising XGM
The Athenean hoplites work 100% in custom battle and campaign. I tried to add corinthian hoplites (this time as adding a new unit ,not customising your entries as in the athenean hoplites) and the game crashes at starting -before the preview vid-. show err does not do anything.
I have added 2 new units and customised a unit that did not exist in gameplay, but they were entries in the text files. If i take out one unit , geme works fine. So there must be a limit to how many units exist in gameplay. All i can do now is maybe take out athenians to see if the corinthians will work, in order to be sure.
The version of XGM i'm working on is 2_2_1 MM, and the resource corinth is on. Although i havent put entries for corinthians in the barracks for use in campaigns yet.
Help!

Re: Customising XGM
There is a limit on the number of units you can have. IIRC you can have 255 entries in descr_model_battle.txt, and 500 in export_descr_unit.txt. If you are working with XGM 2, there should be plenty of room for adding new units.
