Default Chronicles of Arcus - Scores for mods (aka Arcus Lux)

it's been quite a while since I've been on these forums. I used to be very active - so active in fact I think I designed the current forum skin (yay me - i think).

Anyways I also used to be on the Fouth Age: Total War dev team years ago which gave me an opportunity to create music for the mod. That eventually created a whole host of music not needed which I formed into my own series: the chronicles of arcus.

Yesterday I booted up my old computer and found the music and I thought it would bea bit funny to upload them again for all modders to use. Mind you these are not high-end tracks and I had no experience creating music and the quality will reflect that fact.

    Download zip archive: http://www.mogwaimedia.com/download/coa_twc_pack.zip

25 tracks to use in your mod. Features battle themes, loss themes, victory themes and intro themes (+various bonus tracks and alt versions).

Original files/song packs are no longer available sorry - therefore no changes can be made to these tracks. You are welcome to re-edit for your own use.
Thanks go to the FATW dev team who inspired me.
Made with MM Maker, FL Studio, SD1 and various stand-alone plugins. Do not redistribute.

Quite possibly the most useful contribution I've seen in a long time.

I just took a dive into this area myself and plan to release the music as a seperate free to use pack once eodII is out.

Thats awesome work. Two of the areas that modders are always lacking in are music and video.

Don't forget about the equipment needed for this kind of modding. The keyboards for this stuff are EXPENSIVE! I think the last one I saw at the music store was like 1000 bucks. Musta been their top product, though.
Well, sire, you know the Italian court - what better place to court Italians?

Not necessarily. I make some music too and IMO it's pretty good, and all I use is a program called Reason. I don't have a keyboard so I draw the notes in by hand.

I think you can even get one for under 100€. If you buy an used one, even cheaper! Plus, it isn't really necessary to have a keyboard, although it certainly makes things easier!

Nice to see someones made the effort. Heres my professional Opinion on the tracks:
    1. Pretty good... first bit before the other stuff comes in should be shortened a bit. The horns aren't that dramatic on their own. Otherwise pretty good.
    2. Quite an atmospheric track. Can't really fault it on anything. Ends in just the right spot.
    3. Not really my thing tbh. A little atmospheric... but being an electronic(Goa Trance to be more specefic)/folk/a little bit of modern classical
this track doesn't really appeal to be.
Although overall really... I think one of the main things you need to do is lengthen these songs. To at least a 3-4 minute version. These are very short tracks... best track length imo is 7-9 minutes or 5 in special circumstances. Just can't get the epic moment otherwise. Can't really rate such a short piece otherwise. Although I guess in game music you might want something a bit shorter (I.E. 3 and a half-5 minutes) even still... 1-2 minutes is defenitly too short

Ok - thx for your 'review'

They are demos, thats why they're so short. they are about 30-80% longer, all of them.

Thread starting post. Personally I'm more interested in what samplesets he'd recomend for total war (mod) music making. Pretty easy to deduce Ableton/FL Studio(hasn't been called Fruity loops for ages) for production.

I tried reason long ago but I couldn't get to grips with it, now I use a real keyboard (I know crazy) guitars, bass ect, and record with Adobe audition, not the best program but for an old git like me it's pretty simple to use and does the job.
