What are some of your biggest pet peeves?

I was just curious what annoyed people.

For me, one of my top...peeves...is people who make noise when they're: eating, chewing gum, sucking their teeth, drinking something...etc

Why I'm posting this:
I just had the misfortune of having to listen to a guy smack/pop his gum...

So what yours?

What do you mean "reasonably"? You mean they get emotional or...what?

I'm not too fussed about people making noise when they're eating, as long as their mouth is shut.

I don't mind crunching(i.e. eating something crunchy)...that can't be helped...I'm talking about people who smack their food/gum when they chew...and like you I'd very much like to pop them in th mouth...it's a sign of a lack of home training...

Waking up to a meowing pussycat on the head doesn't sound like something that should be "annoying"...

People with hyphenated surnames. It's so sickeningly aristocratic and pompous. And if they weren't elitist, why haven't they legally changed their name?

What about people who inherit both their parents surnames? It's quite common in Arabian cultures. I'm not too fussed about people making noise when they're eating, as long as their mouth is shut. Seriously, people eating with their mouth open drives me insane.

...makes me want to punch them in the frickin' face.

lol...this is actually turning out to be fun...

we get to chuckle at the things that bother others but don't bother us...

this isn't really a pet peeve of mine(leaving the phone off the base)...but I have a friend she has 2 cordless phones and a land line...SHE LIVES IN A ONE BEDROOM APT(@600 sq/ft)...

...and she constantly loses the cordless phones...

...it's hilarious...

The worst part...

....

....the land line cord...is long enough to reach every part of her apt...but she 'doesn't like to talk on that phone'......it's classic...the phone rings and she starts looking around for them...

People who would rather deal with a problem through a yelling match than an adult conversation. (which is why I hate little kids; I know they can't help it, but nevertheless it annoys me)

People who smoke. Seriously. You've been told that it'll kill you for half a century, and you still do it. And you argue that "it's cool". Last time I checked, dying of Lung Cancer is pretty cool too.

Baby pictures

What's wrong with babies?
I think they are cute and stupid.
And I am at least right on one of those parts.

People with kids who think their kids are the bestest in the whole world.

Bestest is not a word.
Best is a word.
I met a lot of those people. People who let their kids run wild and think that they're the best in the whole world.
But due to some weird internet pictures that people posted, some people think that I (a Chinese) eat babies and henceforth keep children away from me. (LMAO)

I know. Lots of people think their kids are the best in the world and that's ok. However, some people will not accept any criticism of any kind when it comes to their kids, hence the made-up superlative 'bestest'.. better than best. Impossible? Yes, but so are those parents.

We had one of those tonight. Two tables away one kid sat there whining, yelling and screaming. My girlfriend asked the waiter in a loud voice if we could be "MOVED AWAY FROM THAT KID!". The waitress laughed and moved us to the other side of the restaurant. When we passed the family, the mother was sitting there being all apologetic, like it wasn't her fault and she had tried and tried.
I know one thing. My dad never once hit me in all his life, but I knew damn well he would if I pushed him. He was the sweetest man in the world, but still... I made damn sure I behaved around him.

But ZaPPPa, I remember that when I was a kid and attempted to run around as if I was on nitrous, my Mom would wallop me across the head (which is why I'm not as smart as I should be).

Nowadays, if someone has a naughty kid, would he or she be entitled to wallop their kids? A friend of my Mom used to complain how she can't punish her kid in public because of all the stares and ugly looks she would get!
