Um, should I get this game or skip it and wait for Empire:TW?

I like this time period much more than what the time period E:TW will be based in. And I might be old-fashioned, but I think that Med2's graphics are fantastic and I don't need to see much better. And I'll settle for the battle animations, which I already think are great.

But is Med2's diplomacy and battle AI so bad that I should skip it and wait another year for E:TW?

Definitely get Medieval2 if you prefer the sword and sandals type of game, especially with amazing, new, mods coming out soon.

I recogonize the third screenie being Warhammer Total War, I can conclude that the first one is also from it, since I haven't seen that screenshot yet. What mod is the second one from?

Right, third is Warhammer, 2nd is Polemarchia, and first one is Order vs Chaos, an amazing little mod Alletun is working on in the WIP Mods section.

It took long time for RTW to be debugged, it will take a long time for MII:TW to be debugged. E:TW will be entirely about politics, with some combat thrown in, so it will take a long time for be debugged.

If you want harder games get MTW with one of the total expansions, the AI is unrealistic but much smarter - the graphics are however poo.

With the expansion coming out, i'd get this game. I bet there's a good chance Empire: Total War will be delayed atleast once. It seems CA has been working on three games in the past year. Kingdoms, the Viking Game, and Empire.

VIKING: Battle For Asgard

A new game coming soon to next-gen consoles from CA. Very similar to Spartan: Total Warrior.

Different teams have been making the games. CA UK (who made Rome) are working on Empire: Total War, whereas CA Oz made Medieval TW and are making it's expansion.

It seems Broken Crescent is nearing their first release. If anything, buy it to see yet another (and probably the best) very polished mod.

I mean, even if something new comes out, it's no reason to at least not try the older versions. Even dated games are still fun, and shouldn't be missed simply because you never got around to playing them and newer versions are released.
