Default Forcing a file/program to delete, and managing what files start with Windows

    Hello All,

I've got a twofold issue, and following searching the basement, I couldn't find an answer to either.
    • I recently tried a download accelerator called Download Accelerator Plus (http://www.speedbit.com/). It was suggested somewhere, and I was stupid to download it but I was desperate to find a way to download an essential file I was trying to get.
I didn't like it, and when I tried to uninstall it, it didn't work. After deleting the registry files connected to it and also after contacting them, I haven't found a solution to get past it.
Even if there isn't anything malicious, I still want it gone and especially want to force it from loading with windows, as I just saw it was taking up 7ks of megabyte space in my task manager. How can I force a deletion? Which leads to my next question:
    • Is there a program where I can manage my task manager and make sure that I never load certain programs? I want to make it more lean when I think there's a lot of stupid programs that don't need to be loaded, such as "google Updater" or "Rich Video" or other such things. Does anyone know of such a program? I swore I remember reading about one here.
    Thanks.

Nevermind to the second question, I may have found it in another post: Easycleaner.

Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" without the speech marks. Navigate to startup and look for the entry in the list that relates to the program. This may take some googling to find the exact one(s). This should stop the program being loaded at startup (which the deleting the registry keys should do, which makes me think you didn't do this correctly).

You now may or may not have more luck at unistalling the program as the files won't be in use. It's not ridding the program from your machine, but it should stop it eating your RAM.

Try BFU (Brute Force Uninstaller) available at http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
