    Default Rome to MTWII player

Never touched mtw series before i grab my hands on mtwII.

Is it worth to try Rome, after i actually got bored abit of mtwII?

My most concerns about mtwII is uber stupid campaign AI, really slowarse and cpu consuming action and i dont like interface.

Also i dont really like middle ages, but like roman/greekish time.

Would you advice me to try Rome after mtwII or not?

I dont really need fancy graphics, but i like good interface and i want battles to be interesting (mtwII have some major battle issues, where AI is extremely dumb).

Dunno what to add, really, just make me inspire of it somehow?

There are some threads running here and there where people argue wheter or not M2TW is better than Rome or not. The people who played both tend to prefer RTW because of the diversity in cultures/units and thus more diverse battles. As concerning stupid ai, there are plenty of RTW mods out there that fix that for at least some bit (Darthmod for example). But I believe M2TW has those too

So I say just go for it! RTW Gold is in shops here (Netherlands) for just €15 so why not. give it a try. My guess is you'll probaly like it even better than M2TW

I've always liked RTW better than Medieval because of the greater campaigns, where you have a lot of different unit types. In Medieval almost every troop look the same, but in Rome almost no team has got more than 3-4 similar units (I said almost). RTW gives you a greater variation in both troops and teams. Have I mentioned that I love RTW?

Some people complain about the AI being dumb or at least boring. So play it online. I've played over 400 games online and I'm still finding each battle refreshing. By the way, I only play Rome: Total War. The time period is my absolute favorite.

I think Campaign is an awesome idea, but it's tarnished by the AI opponent. Just thinking about fighting the comp puts me to sleep.

The AI will keep you happy for at least a while. Then you can get some mods, go online, or do multiplayer campaigns.

I'm basically the same way. If I were you don't bother with it. There's some nice minor changes and balancing but its hardly worth paying $40-50 for. And since you all ready have your Total War game I wouldn't even consider getting MTW II.

Thank guys for replies, i would definitely try Rome, but i wouldnt play online i think, because i am awfull in RTS, and use online to play counterstrike, in wich i succesfull =)

I am seeking for bunch of offline games, it's Civ series for me, mtwII (which is abit lacking for me) and, i hope, would be rome.

I am hisctorical battles junky, but only up to medieaval, rifling killed any sort of tactics tbh.

RomeTW + RTR Platinum 1.9 = Never play any other PC game ever again. Well for me... So get mods if you really wanna enjoy RTW.

Get the game. If I were you, I wouldn't bother with mods until you start getting bored with the original.
