RTR pre marian units confusing me

Well ive seen two pre marian units. tell me which version i can get these guys please

But ive also seen these guys and im confused which versions use which.

We are at RTR 6 pt now with RTR 7 coming soon.

RTR vII skins pwn 5.4.1, 6.0, gold/pe, RS, EB, SPQR and every other mod you can imagine....

It's a pure pleasure figthing the battles!

RTR 5.41 was truly an inbetween mod looking at modern mods and Vannila

Bouis' Roma was awesome. It was a sort of sneak preview of RTR 6.0. I remember being amazed at the way the AOR and the Romanisation processes worked... plus it was quite difficult.

No.

Platinum is a totally separate install to RTR 6.0

Go to the Platinum sub-forum and read the installation instructions:

I've got fond memories of 5.4.1, it was the only campaign where I went as far as painting the entire map red!

I'm also saddened that people are still getting suckered in by the RTR.com site. It was only last week that I was helping two guys who'd downloaded from it and couldn't get it to work (quelle surprise!).

Thankfully, they are now two happy bunnies on the righteous path of Platinum.

P.S. Am I the only one who sheds a tear for the loss of the Hastati/Principe/Triarii triumvirate when Marius kicks in?

I must admit that's one thing that bugs me - not being able to reequip my veterans, or retrain them, after Marius. All that experience gone to waste!

I've sometimes got round it by sending my vets. to a city with a main barracks and using the "Create_Unit" command to transform them into legionnaires of comparable experience.

It's a bit cumbersome because the vets. will maybe have different levels of experience and armour and have to be created individually, and when I disband them I have to adjust the city population to what it was before.

But it's worth it.

If you have RTW 1.3 (or higher) - install RTR PE (after patching RTW to 1.5).

If you have RTW 1.0 (or 1.2) - you can either install 1.2 and then RTR 6 Gold or futher patch to RTW 1.5 and then install RTR PE.

If you have RTW 1.0 (or 1.2) you can take a clean copy of the RTW 1.2 directory and then use that to make other directory to install various versions of the game. I have installs of RTR 6 Gold, RTR PE 1.9 and a few others on the PC (EB for instance).
