I'm doing some skins of the normal hoplites for different factions. Here's what I've done so far.

Mercenary:


Pergamum:

I think we need several unique units for the swap factions, something along the lines of:

- 2 types of hoplites (normal and elite)
- Thureophoroi
- Thorakitai
- Peltasts
- and perhaps a cavalry?

For Massilia, Syracuse, Sparta, Athens, Rhodes and Crete.

I'm just doing different skins of the normal hoplite unit that every faction will get. I could do more reskins using KLA's work for city-specific hoplites (I already have actually, done alot of different ones to replace Athenian hoplites, Pergamian, Spartan, etc.)

See my PM for constructive (I hope) feedback. Also I think we need to concentrate first on the fixed factions - swaps factions come later as icing on the cake.

New update, changed the face. Edit: Realised I needa make the shadow on the face a bit smaller and take it off the nose more.

hmm this mite just be personal preference but i think you need a rim on the shield

Nice! I meant the rim that was the same as the faction icon surround though. I agree with SoR - it'd be good to have a rim of some sorts of bronzey coloured metal - if you go down through the layers of the texture I sent you, you 'll probably find a bronze shield.

Edit: Here we go.

Nice work. Hopefully the last point - it might be worth removing a little of the shadowing around the eagle on the shield so it doesn't stand forward too much. Otherwise looks good....oh and might be worth trying to match the colour of the plume with the shield. I'd lean more towards the blue end rather than purple because these guys aren't elites so wouldn't afford the expensive purple.

Hey tone just a qyestion will all the hopelites have plumes?
Iam speaking of Greece citys. Will that attic helmet be used.

The attic looks like a early roman helmet.. .sort of.
They are found in EBS modd for their Greeks.
maybe different types to break it up?
some with a small ( i call it a tail plume. ) others without.
See Ebs Greek classical hoplites. Which arnt that bad!
Different types of armour and leather that gives a battle worn feeling.
Most sites i have seen the Greeks either have that heavy leather armour,
Curtus, or lite amour mail which hangs over. and that heavy armour which
was not on the regular troops but the captain of that unit. So should we just keep the heavy armour breastplate on
their captain only? and of course the general.
Since it was expensive to the common recruit to have those heavy armoured breastplates.
More experienced men had the reward of heavier armour. They were found on cav. elites, Generals body guards.
But not on the field, Since it was very heavy.Just as the Romans found that out later from switching back to the heavy leather ed, scaled, and mail armour. instead of the plated type.
Can you show more shots ? unless Tone has other stuff for you..
I just feel if we all have troops with armoured beasts it will feel like vanilla RTW.
