"My Horde"

After i finnally destroyed mongol Golden Horde, i said myself "why i can't do that?".
So i well prepared for longrun conquest with only one goal - total pillaging of west.

I gathered 6 full cavalry armies with generals, mainly consisting of mamluks, mamluk archers and arab cavalry and some mercenries heavy cavalry.

Then i took 10 my superb trained spies and headed to Byzanty (Jihad was announced, as a bonus).

Then i headed to west, following simple rules - attacking everything in sight with full armies and 3 reinforcment stacks and simply autoresloved every battle.

Whenever was possible i hired mercenaries(it's depends of region where you are, so it's was possible almost every turn) to fill my holes due to casualties.

Every single city/castle i took in one single turn, due to my super able spys, chance to open gates was always >120%

My "horde" moved with lighting speed, thanks to only cavalry in it.

I pillaged every settlement i was in, getting my 10-30k gold and moved on, leaving it completly without defence, unstoppable machine

Long story short. When i lost most my spies and generals (granted, i got bunch of new generals after battling, using army without), and my purse exceeded 1 million i finnaly stopped and looked on europe map with a smile.

Half of cities are now rebel. Everybody hate me. Economics of some kingdoms is fluke, everybody took several cities of everybody (because it's was undefended after me).

Trust me, it's worth it Never had same fun before with MTW2

Lol i'm going to try that idea. Sounds like fun. I'm currently playing as Egypt and already conquered the whole middle-east and northern africa and am now expanding into the Balkans while fighting those **** mongols. But after that I'm definitely going on a total rampage with pure mamluk/mamluk archer armies into Europe and burn down and raid every settlement I encounter. + rep for the great idea.

iirc mongols have 3 silver, not gold chevrones )

I did this the other day with the Turks. Except I called a Jihad right before I started on Paris, which gave me a target far away and plenty of intervening plunder. I used 3 Free army stacks to do the job and took 5-8 provinces on the way. I sacked and then destroyed all the buildnigs (that could be) and then gave the provinces I could not defend to alies, the pope and one far off in the east to Portugal, lol. The map is now such a mess that the western powers will take years to sort it all out and hopefully leave me alone. The drawback of using a Jihad of course that you eventually get desertions. The benefit is free stacks and lightning fast movement. I did this all before the first mongol invasion. Now to get ready for them...

Well, this turned out to be a great way to prepare for the Mongols, although I've already been a Mongol, before being a Mongol was cool, lol. All the money from sacking europe and experienced armies coming back from the Jihad has prepared teh Turks well. And sacking the Sicilians on the way out by ship should add icing on the cake. I just got the message that the Mongols have arrived, gotta go take them down...

If you like hordes just play Barbarian Invasion....I loved being the Vandals and taking thier route all the way to carthage=)!
