Just Joined Quick Question

I Just downloaded and tried to install one of the 300 The Hot gates Maps by kungfuserge and when i tried to start up my game ( Vanilla installation right off Rome Total War Gold) my game went to the usual starting screen where it displays the red pic with all the trademarks etc. Not soon after that the game shuts down and it crashes back onto the desktop. Any Help would be appreciated this is what i did to install mod

Copy and paste files into Descr_Model_Battle, descr_projectile_new, export_descr_unit, export_descr_unit_enums, and export_unit from the ones i got with download. After that i placed the .cas files along with the .tga files into correct folders and added the UI folder from the download into my game directory because i could not find that folder.
Sorry if this is wrong thread please direct me to correct one if so. Thank you

Ok always remember to back up what you are going to be working with

first: right click on the RTW icon and click properties
2nd: at the end of the target line type in "-show_err." (w/o the quotations)
3rd: load the game and hopefully an error message will come up.
