Frustrating

Finally Ive gotten use to the game I'm at the Civil war stage with 33 territories. It is now possible for me to attack Rome, which ive done so and won . The problem is once ive done this the game freezes!! every single time! has anyone else had this problem? It there a bug that doesnt allow you to attack Rome too early? Thanx for replies.

Hmmph, The game really has a tendency to crash to desktop rather than freeze.

Yeah, things like that happends aloth to me .. Thats why i never finished any of my campaigns :,(
Anyway, recently, in RTR subforums I heard that reseting campaign map can help (you can do that by deleting map.rwm file(s)). It was not about same problem, but it was similar.. Anyway try deliting it, and then load your game and attack rome again, see what happends..

What version of RTW do you have DragonSabre? I know the versions before 1.5 could be quite buggy.

Version 1.5 is good.....don't know about previous versions though, never tried them out.

I had same problem on 1.0....i couldnt win campiagn..but it all sorted out with 1.5

lol how can I find out which version ive got? I bought the game in a pack of three Rome total war Barbarian Invasion and Alexander. ( Total war Anthology) Thanx.

Start the game, go to Options, and you will see the version number in the upper right corner.

Could the save file be corrupted? I get that stuff sometimes...did you quit the game suddenly (like not the normal method)? That can mess up the save file, in which case you should just start a new campaign. A real waste considering all the work you seem to have made in your current campaign.
