I'm playing a BI campaign as the Celts, and I just took Londinium to eliminate the Roman presence and bring about the Romano-British. I was relieved when I saw they were one stack. Until I attacked with mine and found out that even though they had 50 more guys and a far inferior general, they had 2:1 odds against me. So I look and find that they are incredibly upgraded. I mean WTF? How can I deal with that? So I tried abandoning Londinium to them and sitting on the river to the west while they took the city so I could stop them from taking the rest of the isle. Then they sack the city and come up to attack. So I have two questions. I didn't see any horde logos or anything so I don't know, do they lose half their army when they settle? God I hope so, lol. Anyway, they slaughtered my army at the river battle, I couldn't stop them. Their peasants, since they were so upgraded, could beat my gallowglasses. My berserker unit was helpless and my spears were slaughtered. What should I do? I set my spears in schiltrom in front of the river, and lined up my gallowglasses behind with the berserkers and chariots behind them. they charged the spears and the spears routed quick, so I charged my gallowglasses in and the berserkers. I did make a mistake of not setting the berserkers to berserk, and my cavalry was absent because some saxons showed up on the coast and I sent them. My army was 5 pictish spears, 7 gallowglasses, 1 merc gallowglass, one berserker, and one chariot. My cavalry was 2 general, including Drest with 93 bodyguards, a mercenary Graal Knight, and Celtic noble cavalry, or whatever. It's hard to make big armies too, since I wasn't making any money until I took Londinium, and then bam, they show up. So any suggestions of what to do?
