    Default Burning down Siege towers

Simple question, can a siege tower begin to burn when it's at the walls?

yes they can but bowmen in M2TW seem to be not as effective as RTW was and usually isnt worth it if it does get to wall the as i doubt you will burn it before it opens.

haha, with cannon towers, they dont need to burn. The cannons just destroy them.

I've had towers go up in flames while guys were climbing up into them.

Its fun to see em all tumble down!

I myself had that problem...Laying siege to Prague or something as HRE and the thrice-cursed Polish burned it down with 58 knights inside of it! End result was, 2 knights got to wall, and fought to the death against a bunch of spear militia..I awarded them my mental medal of valor.

I've had many seige towers burn at the walls, and its a mad rush to get men out of the tower before it crumbles. Are seige towers worth it? I have better results using ladders. Your men can run with ladders, ladders don't burn, towers cant roll up inclines, and I haven't noticed any difference in the melee between units using towers and those using ladders.

I prefer ladders too, but I always use towers as well. Having towers gives the enemy more targets to shoot at and while they concentrate on trying to burn the slow moving towers down the ladders get to the walls with little to no casualties. If the towers make it to the walls without burning to the ground the troops seem to take less casualties, which is the point of towers in the first place - the towers take the bulk of enemy missile fire.

I find siege towers burn too quickly, I just use two rams and if one gets destroyed the other always makes it. Flawless!

two towers pushed by the cheapest crappiest infantry (peasants?) you can get make great arrow soaks. put one on either side of the gate to take fire away from your rams and the real troops going up with ladders.

I always take 2 rams and try to draw fire away with other units

Why risk getting your towers getting burned. Just take two ballistas and destroy all of the towers in the section of the wall you're attacking.
