Optimizing New System..Please help

Greetings And Salutations From A Newbie

Comp. is 2 weeks old
HP- AMD/64X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60GHz
RAM 3006MB
32 Bit /OS Vista
Dx 10
559MB Total Graphics memory

NVIDIA 6150SE nForce 430 with latest drivers
(came stock. good enough?I ask that because i found out that HP "dumped" these VC's into these comps. NVIDIA doesnt even make these anymore.

Comp was assembled in May of this year!!!)

ROME TW / What would you do.
1.Card settings
2.In game video settings
Played numerous campaigns on XP with larger "in battle" unit counts and better framerates

Errrrr... never heard of those cards. I personally have my eyes on an 8800.

Get a 6800 GTS/GTX of ebay quick. That card is a stinker of epic proportions, a stinker kinda of like King Kongs first dump of the day sort of stink, really that is an awfull card. Needless to say you won't be playing many games with that video card.

I sincerely hope you mean 8800GTS/GTX, but then why ebay? Interesting.

Anyway, that video card is awful and is the killer in that system. RAM should be plenty (getting a proper graphics card will probably give you an extra 512mb anyway).

I'm also going to guess that the reason you're getting rubbish rates is because the game is running in DX9 emulation on a rubbish card, but that is purely a guess.
