RtR is great, but lately I've been leaning towards EB. Unfortunatley, for me the framerate on the strat-map is slow, which annoys the hell out of me.

If you have a good computer ... you have to try EB. If you have the Barbarian Invasion expansion you should try IB. Ofcourse RTRPE ... if you love RTR.

Yes Invasio Barbarorum is the best mod Ive seen for the BI timeframe. Definitely give that a download.

It is sorta based on RTRPE, but so amazing that it is a mod in it's own right. It is of course, the best mod for Romans, Imperator II.

@ winter: have you turned off the shadows on the Campaign map. I almost got rid of EB once because of the slowness, but taking of those shadows is such a relief for your system.

Thanks I'll try that. The framerate isn't that bad, but it is still a bit jerky compared to RTR.

Try Met/Nav mod for Platinum 1.9, if you want to add an extra challenge and features to your RTR game. Otherwise try Europa Barborum, for an immersing experience.

Well the best mod for Hannibal Wars and cool and challenging gameplay is Iberia- Total War. It really rocks.
Also I'd recommend TFT and 77 BC- twilight of the Republic (pontic+civil wars)

I liked EB, but it was pretty choppy. Also, it seemed to always take about 10 minutes or more just for the game to start up.

Yep the main reason why I abandoned EB.
The installation takes ages... the unpacking...then installing...pc slows down terribly. The main screen takes ages, map has no speed, but the new animations are great.

There are many great mods^^.
My favourite mod is RTR 6.2,
no other.
I´ve played many others ,too, of course.
The last mods i´ve installed were Arthurian TW,
which doens´t work ...,because it crashed when it is loading the mainsmenu,
the same is with Ogniem I Mecien(it´s in the 17th ccentury^^)
ut I´ve also installed Troy TW,which is REALLY GREAT.
Almost perfect.Yesterday I downloaded EurasiaTotelRealism,
I thinks it´s actually good work.But I miss phalanx troops for the Indian ....
But if you really like RTR then you must try the RealismExtended Version mod!!
It´s for RTR Platinum 1.8!Great,3 new factions!
Epirus,Britannia and the Galatians!This mod is really great,but as Galatians also really difficult ....

Just curious, why RTR 6.2? That version is ancient and bug ridden, mostly because of the 1.2 version its based on...

There are many. My favorite mod is Roma Surrectum. RTR was the first mod that I played. At that time, I thought that was the coolest mod ever. I also thought that was the only mod out there for the longest time. It's a good mod. The one thing that bugged me while playing RTR, it crashed a lot on me. Also, the historical aspect is also pretty neat. The focus is to stay accurate.

Roma Surrectum is really cool. I like it that Syracuse is it's own empire. The Roman Legions are pretty cool. Xtended Greek Mod is also good. It takes 30 Units to recruit Elite Spartans
