Default Wheel of Time Total War

I spent a lot of time on this so please just take a peek.

This mod cannot go unmade it is just too perfect of a setting for a MTW2 mod.
Many of the factions are much like factions from medieval Europe, a lot of units wouldn't even have to be changed that much. Unit lists are already done from the failed WOT mod for RTW... too few modelers I have no modeling skill myself but I can draw any artwork needed and can provide any information about the books.

IF YOU HAVENT READ THE BOOKS GO PICK UP THE FIRST BOOK : Eye of the World I promise you will like the book and be drawn in.

For those of you who don't know anything about the books here is a description:

Since the day of creation the Dark One was sealed in his prison in the mountain of Dhoom. Some three thousand years ago in the Age of Legends men and women who could channel the one power swore a dark oath to the Shadow and bore a hole into Shai'tan's prison. These men and women were labeled as the thirteen Forsaken, for they had forsaken their oaths to the light. The war that followed gave creation of many dark creatures to serve in the armies of the Dark One: Trollocs human-like shapes half again as tall as any man but distorted by horns and various other animal parts, Myrddraal human-like creatures with pasty like skin and without eyes it is a common saying in the Borderlands that, "the look of the Eyeless is fear". These creatures were lead south out of the Great Blight by men and women who could channel known as Dreadlords. Out of desperation The Dragon, Lews Therin Telamon led his hundred companions north to Shayol Goul, where they sealed the Dark One's prison and the Forsaken within. As a last stroke of revenge the Dark One reached out and tainted Saidin, the male half of the true source. Dooming any man who channeled to go insane. Even in great victory one by one every man who could channel went insane and broke the world, changing the face of earth itself. It has been three thousand years since the world was broken, now only women channel and any man who begins channeling is hunted down and killed out of fear. Yet the seals on the Dark One's prison begin to weaken, threatening to unleash Shai'tan on the world once more. Humankind's only hope is that The Dragon will be reborn to face the Dark One once more to raise the banner of the light and lead humanity against the Shadow in the Last Battle, fulfill prophecy and surely break the world once more..

Heres a image of the map

Here is a list of factions:
Andor: ruled by Queens with close connections to Tar Valon

Tear: Guardians of the Stone the greatest fortress in the world. Hated enemies of Illian

Cairhein: Guardians of the Dragonwall, bitter players of Daes'Daemar or "the game of houses"

Tar Valon: Home of Aes Sedai the women who can channel

Illian: One of the great trading ports, where the Great Hunt of the Horn has always been called. They hold a bitter hatred of Tear.

Altara: Another land of great trading and sailors. Weak centralized government but a hardy people.

Amadicia: It may be ruled by a king but the true power is behind the Children of the Light, men sworn to fight the shadow an root out Darkfiends.

Ghealdan: A small but very strong neighbor of Amadicia

Tarabon: Capital Tanchico bitter rivals of Arad Doman. Known for the viels they wear.

Murandy: Much like Altara in the power of its king, Murandians rarely unite and only to face foreigners.

Saldea: A borderland nation committed to the never ending war against the blight, famous for their light cavalry.

Kandor: A borderland nation, famous for their archers.

Arafel: A borderland nation, famous for their swordsmen.

Shienar: Defenders of Tarwin's gap where they have many a time turned back the Trolloc hordes. Home of the best heavy cavalry in the world.

The Aiel: Bound to the waste for their sin of failing the Aes Sedai. A very hardy people, can easily run from sun up to sun down and fight a battle at the end. They disdain all armor and viel their faces before they kill. Will never touch a sword, they fight with short spears, a buckler, a small hornbow and a heavy bladed knife. Though they are known to be just as deadly with their hands and feet. Have never been united they fight continously among themselves. Twenty years before the begining of the game, three of the twelve clans crossed the Dragonwall burning and ravaging the land taking a united force from all nations to throw them back on the Slopes of Dragonmount near Tar Valon. Where Lews Therin Telamon killed himself and where it is prophecized he would be reborn.

The Blight: Armies of Trollocs led by Myrddraal who serve the Dark One. Pure evil.

Here are some drawings done by others:

I also loved the books, Jordan is by far one of my fav authors.

I hope you can get somewhere with this as I wanted to see the RTW version of it. A few tips/suggestions.

Set the time back a bit from the books, say the Whitecloak wars or 100 years war, maybe even the Aiel wars. Make the Whitecloaks a faction.

Make the Aes Sedai ancillaries, or maybe use papal_states and make them something like the pope as I seriously doubt you can get a family tree to work right with them.

Andor will have to be kings, I dont think queens can be done.

Include the Aiel Waste and make them a faction.

Include the Sea Folk and Seanchan and maybe use the World is Round event to get to Seanchan lands, or for the Correnne.

I have lots of other ideas and might even donate a small bit of time to help you out but I am going full bore on another mod at the moment.

Ive been doing a lot of drawing recently of WOT ill post some of my pictures later this week, but i'm really pushing for this mod. I was thinking we could have two campaigns one with the Aiel war which would exclude the blight and every nation has its soveriegnty so it would be a fun campaign. And a campaign to follow Rand and I believe that campaign should start with Rand leaving the waste with his Aiel army and Tear already behind him. This campaign would be fun because the Seachan would just be arriving in force at Tarabon and it would start immediately with a massive battle between Couladin and Rand's forces. The only down side is that Mayene, Tear and Cairhien wouldnt have their own soveriegnty instead replaced by a Forces of the Light faction. But this faction would be fun because of many more units such as Band of the Red hand. Also with the Two Rivers added in also as a part of the Forces of the light, maybe even some scattered but weak armies out in Tarabon and Arad Doman representing Dragonsworn.

I dont know WE REALLY HAVE TO MAKE THIS MOD!!!! I think the Aiel War campaign could be made semi easily because there would be no units that would take an extensive amount of modeling (no trollocs) many units in the game already come close to the armies of wheel of time some reskinning and changing around would all that would be neccesary.

But im going to create a post like this over at the Org and see if I can rally some more support.

I'm not a modeller but I toyed around with the idea of this. (I lost track due to real life and not having access to the RTW dev forum on the guild)

One problem i ran into is the map, not too many cities to put

There are other maps I dont own a copy of the WOT encylopedia but maybe if I search around on the net I can find some better WOT maps with more cities, if not we may have to make them up or atleast we can put castles or maybe even lord's manors out in the countryside.

I put the aiel down as a faction, the whitecloaks are included in the Amadicia faction. The seachan will definately have to be a faction, can replace mongols with them, and just set a date when they arrive in Tarabon with a massive force . Or we can just make them a faction and give them the Seafolk territory. I dont think the seafolk should be a faction considering there is never any mention of them fighting land battles and the only sea battles they have fought are against the Seachan. But glad to have the ideas everyone.

I was thinking of also having castles/towns to control areas like "TomanHead" and "Almoth Plain"

I think the Whitecloaks should be a seperate faction but maybe have them in a superfaction with Amadicia or Amadicia be their vassals.

Since we have 30 faction slots(M2TW limit IIRC), we might be able to get the Sea Folk so they are a little more organized then normal rebels. Give them bad land units(but make a script to spawn soldiers if people invade?)

    Faction list(keeping a tally)

1.Andor: ruled by Queens with close connections to Tar Valon

2.Tear: Guardians of the Stone the greatest fortress in the world. Hated enemies of Illian

3.Cairhein: Guardians of the Dragonwall, bitter players of Daes'Daemar or "the game of houses"

4.Tar Valon: Home of Aes Sedai the women who can channel (Pope like faction? Strong ties with Andor and the borderland states

5.Illian: One of the great trading ports, where the Great Hunt of the Horn has always been called. They hold a bitter hatred of Tear.

6.Altara: Another land of great trading and sailors. Weak centralized government but a hardy people.(great geurilla troops. Sort of like Portugal?(ie javelins, fast, good stamina. Could someone find the chapter where they raid the Seanchan[i think it was them])

7.Amadicia: It may be ruled by a king but the true power is behind the Children of the Light, men sworn to fight the shadow an root out Darkfiends.

8.Ghealdan: A small but very strong neighbor of Amadicia

    POSSIBLE FACTIONS-

    Sea Folk- list of ships;
"Atha'an Miere ships fall into four general classes. From smallest to largest they are the darter, soarer, skimmer, and raker"
CoS- I suggest you get the WoT encyclopedia, LOADS of info

EDIT: CoS, you have photoshop?, maybe you could do textures and 2d art?

We could retexture certain pikemen and stuff for now, get a working beta, that might pick up a modeller. I might be able to help with some coding. Whats your MSN?

Toman Head already has Falme, but no reason you couldnt add another and split the territory. Running through that map I posted earlier I count 50 or so cities/regions. Then you add a few in the blight, a few in the Aiel Waste, a few in Shara, and a few for the Seanchan and you are up close to 70 or so.

Then if you go through the books for all the villages that people stop in for only a night or so I bet you can get another 100. Four Kings, Salidar, bunches of them. Those would be good starting places for the slave faction.

Not many independant faction places, few but not many. Im rereading the series again right now so thats a good thought ill write down all the towns and where they are as I come by them.

Yeah you would actuately be suprised at the amount of stuff we just dug up out of the old dev forums for the RTW mod. We have all the faction symbols, unit lists some unit stats not to mention all the old members will be getting messages. Hopefully we'll get our hands on the old map as well.
