    Default Danish Line of Ascension

So, I think this is my first post in this subforum. I'll try to be coherent, if not concise.

Love the mod, first. Nice and long. 100 years in, now, just barely getting my economy under control. Figured I'd play the Danes, as so far I've only played a few hours with Scotland and almost two full campaigns as the Germans/HRE.

First thing I notice, the Danish get vikings. Cool. I've never actually fought the danes, as the HRE. I just had an alliance with them until the English wiped them out.
Then, I take a look at my family tree. Seems the heir to my kingdom is the third son of my king. That seemed a bit unorthodox, but maybe my first two sons are spectacular failures. I play a bit, my faction leader dies, third son is crowned.
... Faction Heir becomes second son of first son of original leader. This doesn't change when the current leader's only son comes of age.
But the madness of the royal line continues!

Now, my current leader was crowned at 20, and named his heir to be his uncle, he was approaching 60. Uncle dies, he names his next heir his other uncle who is ALSO approacing sixty. Also, since he was crowned so young, he has no wife... and I can't figue out a way to get him married.

Aslo, despite most of my males aving Fertile and Virile as traits, they usually only manage to produce a single child. Sometimes, two. Never three, never four.

Now, my royal line is almost totally gone, with what seems no hope of being able to replenish it. Apart from a single freak storm on a crusade, I haven't gotten any family members killed, nor have I been marrying cousins to each other.

Anyone know of a way I can possibly save this dynasty, or will I eventually find myself needing to start a new campaign?

Mary your hair and king with some of their cousins, or nieces (it's allowed in M2TW )

Send your emissaries all over europe in search of princesses. i've noticed that Spain and Portugal have a lot of princesses.

i've never ran out of children in any of my campaigns...

That's the problem. My faction leader has no children, so no princesses there, and my heir who came of age at 58... Well, his daughter is WELL past the age she'll spawn as a princess. I think my only hope is to whack the uncle (or just wait a few turns, he'll kack off on his own), then try to find a suitable princess and cheat to make her really fertile... and hope my new faction heir is under the age of 55.
