    Icon3 Alternative Garrison Script DLV 4.03

    *UPDATED* to new Version!!

    hi,
    first of all many thanks to the dlv-team for a wonderful mod! danke!

    Alternative Garrison Script for DLV 4.03
    please give me feedback, suggestions or report bugs

    The goals:
    -speed up the campaign faction-switch time
    -more accurate units for garrison
    -only the capitals are garrisoned
    -independant kingdoms living longer (Switzerland; Aragon, Bohemia, Bulgaria, Florence, Georgia)

    Issues:
    - The Seljuk Capital is Baghdad! You can change this by deleting Baghdad and typing another city (e.g. Iconium)
    - The Lega Lombarda Capital is Genoa!

    install:
    make a copy of your campaign_script file!!
    you have to copy the text in the attached file and paste it in your campaign_script file.
    overwrite the old garrison script and save

    new* you can find a complete campaign_script file based on dlv 4.03 (baghdad is changed back to iconium)*

    For those of us who are not so adept at modding it would be a lot easier to try out your script if you had attached a text file for download and simple installation of all the changes you have made.
    Otherwise it's a good idea. I'm playing with a similar one to give only the capitals some smaller help in terms of last ditch mobilization, and the holy cities alone some greater help, to make a Crusade or Jihad more difficult to accomplish, as it should be, considering their worth. Something should be done about the advantage of owning a holy city, too.

    Thanks for the update, what I really like about your changes is the small extra garrison for rebels, adds a little random factor in the beginning of each new campaign...

    Thanks for releasing your mini-mod in an easily accessible form, Pilatus! Will try it as soon as I have a go at DLV again (took a break from CTDs based on 3.2)

    i've posted a complete campaign script based on dlv 4.03
    i changed baghdad back to iconium so you can easily take it and play

    Are the following lines required, or should they be overwritten aswell?
    ........
    declare_counter elo_start
    declare_counter armenia_start....

    set_counter aztecs_start 0
    set_counter byzantium_start 0
    set_counter denmark_start 0.....

    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionIsLocal
    if I_LocalFaction aztecs
    set_counter aztecs_start 1
    historic_event introduction.....

    These lines are used to distiguish if a settlement is owned by the AI or the player, so I'd say you still need em.
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    declare_counter elo_start ---> make a new uhm.. counter or variable or whatever

    set_counter elo_start 0 ----> set it to 0

    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionIsLocal
    if I_LocalFaction elo
    set_counter aztecs_start 1 -----> change it to 1 if the player plays elo
    historic_event introduction.....

    and the garrison script checks if elo_start is 0 or 1 prior to spawning a garrison into an elo territory.

    Will I need to start a new campaign for this to work? At the moment, I'm playing a campaign with no garrison script because it kept crashing in 1230.

    Thanks for that, but I've started a new campaign without Garrison Script and it's really rocking!! Does this Alternative Garrison Script have the 1230 bug as well, or has it been fixed in this script?

    hi my son,
    i would recommend to start a new campaign...otherwise it will mess up and ctd. ...perhaps

    this script is not based on the described bug. because as repman has said its in the file descr_character_traits.txt

    Has anyone made an updated version of this script for v5.2? I've tried searching the forum and don't see anything, and would do it on my own but I have no idea how to mod something like this in...
